My whole family trains here. My 12 year old daughter started 4 years ago. She fell in love with jiu jitsu and I credit Jon Blank to that because of his passion for the art. She grew into a strong, confident young lady. My daughter’s love of the sport lead to my husband and I getting on the mats. We both love it and the school feels like a second home. The instructors Jon, Quinn, Ardis and Laura are all top notch and take the time to help everyone. As a woman jiu jitsu can be very intimidating but everyone makes you feel comfortable at this school. There is a women’s class every Saturday run by Laura that is open to all women. If you’re thinking of starting or continuing your jiu jitsu journey 10th Planet Allentown is the right place.
Every time I visit Allentown to see family, I make it a point to train at 10th Panet Jiu Jitsu, and it never disappoints! I primarily attend their kickboxing classes, and the experience is always top-notch. The culture here is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes it easy to feel at home even as a visitor. As a female, feeling safe in a training environment is very important to me, and this gym excels in that aspect. The instructors and members are respectful and create a supportive atmosphere. The quality of the training is excellent, with a perfect balance between technical drills and sparring sessions. Whether you're looking to sharpen your skills or get a great workout, this is the place to be. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area!
I'm completely new to combat sports and self defense training. I have been coming to this and the Bethlehem one for like 3 months and it's phenomenal. I think what helps is how welcoming the trainers and classmates are. As well as how there's classes with all levels. Even with higher level classmates they flow train and teach you little things instead of just bullying or beating you constantly. I really like the diversity of trainers, the method training. Along with diversity of levels and people in general. Just makes the environment great.
This place is amazing. I thought I started "later" in life to try with no experience. It is the most welcoming environment. The owner and other instructors are incredible, and all the people make it so much fun. No one treats you different if it is your first day or 10th year. Now I go every chance I get and I'm addicted to BJJ. When I travel I look for other places to train. In comparison, this is by far the best place to go. Plus I was shocked, within a large BJJ community, this school is well known from Florida to CA. People ask if I really train here when I show up with Finishers gear. It is no secret that this place, owner, instructors, competitors, and students are the best. I've never been more confidant about a place than here. If you are reading this, you are probably considering it. Do it!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain.
I started training at 10th planet Allentown in 2019 and I was hooked immediately by the welcoming environment, the enthusiastic coaches, and the talent of the martial artists. I also started my kickboxing journey at 10p Allentown and my beginner nerves were eased by the one of a kind fun loving energy of the head striking coach Ardis Smith and the protective and caring environment he creates. I have seen many gyms that lack an inclusive, safe, ego-free culture, and in my opinion the best thing about Atown is the culture they have built which allows for high intensity competition while always keeping student safety and well being at the forefront. 10p Allentown is great for everybody from casual students just looking for a fun source of exercise to competitive athletes looking to train with other high level students and knowledgeable coaches. 10p Allentown started as my gym and now it’s my home.
I can’t say enough great things about this gym. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The atmosphere is positive, supportive, and inclusive whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you’ll feel right at home. Thor, the head instructor and black belt, is truly exceptional. His knowledge of jiu-jitsu is on another level, and he has a rare gift for teaching. He breaks things down clearly, making even the most complex techniques easy to understand and apply. On top of that, he’s one of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. He creates an environment where everyone feels respected, encouraged, and motivated to grow. If you’re looking for a place to train, learn, and be part of a great community, this is the gym. Highly recommend!
