I’ve had a great experience at Arena Boxing Gym. The atmosphere is serious but welcoming — you can tell this is a place where people come to work. The coaches are knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping you improve, whether you’re a beginner or have experience. The training sessions are structured, high-energy, and focused on real skill development, not just cardio. The facility is clean, organized, and equipped for proper boxing training — plenty of bags, space to move, and a strong team environment. What stands out most is the culture. It pushes you to be disciplined and consistent while still feeling supportive. If you’re looking to get in shape, sharpen your skills, and train in a focused environment, Arena Boxing Gym delivers.
Outstanding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed martial arts training facility! Full sized ring for sparring, kickboxing and boxing heavy bags, and separate mat area for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi and no-Gi instruction. Featuring ADCC Hall of Fame, IBJJF World Champion, and Fight to Win Lightweight Champion, Baret Yoshida. Be sure to stop by for his well known crucifix/assassin choke finish!
Arena Gym exceeded my expectations from the moment I walked in. Being there for the first time, I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed. Everyone, from the members to the coaches—was incredibly friendly and respectful, which made it easy to focus on training. The coaches/members were approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping people improve, no matter their experience level. The atmosphere was motivating without being intimidating. Arena Gym is a place where you feel supported and pushed to be better.
Most impressive and expansive facilities I have seen yet. Open all day with classes every hour, The Arena features separate buildings for Jujitsu, Boxing and Muay Thai / MMA all connected on one central campus. The staff are welcoming and the coaches are knowledgeable. They have even trained Navy SEALs. Try for one day - 24 hr pass. This place is a gem - a treasure for anyone who lives in San Diego and is looking to develop themselves as a fighter or just to learn new skills and better themselves.
I was in town for a week for a work trip and wanted to get some training in. I have experience with other martial arts but am new to BJJ - I was blown away by how welcoming and proficient the folks at The Arena were. The instructor was able to balance a class containing advanced students as well as beginners (like me!) without reducing the experience of either. I would definitely come back here next time I am in town!
When my 15 year-old son wanted to begin learning how to box, I asked all my friends that train MMA & BJJ where we should go.... And they all said the same thing… Take him to the Arena! The Arena Coaches are helpful, kind, and extremely knowledgeable In their Fighting-disciplines. With a great mix of professional and amateur fighters around the gym at all times, my son learns so much every time he trains. I can't recommend The Arena more!
