I have been to other gyms around the Dallas area and I can tell you that this is the place to be. Coach Yousef & Mohsen aren't no rookies to this. Star is one of the few gyms that have been around long before most gyms in the Dallas area. Also many bjj & mma champions in the area have trained here. The coaches truly not only gives awesome technical instruction they pay attention to all of there students. If you are a beginner, your not alone or a world class competitor your not alone. There are competitors of all levels here. There is also wrestling, boxing and muay thai instructors here that are very good. Star Jiu-Jitsu, both students and instructors give open arms to everyone. Also Star offers two locations which it makes it convenient. I am so glad I found this gym, Since coming here I really feel good about training, I am getting better at this art while making life long friends. Come train here!!!!! :)
Star has been a blessing to my family for many years. My oldest son wrestled for Hebron High School and we were referred to Star by his coach. It was the perfect complement to the training he received at school. Many champions received training at Star on their journey up the ranks. Now my youngest son, who is eleven, is training in BJJ, Wrestling and Muay Thai. He loves the intense workouts, led by experienced instructors. They give the kids excellent instruction and sometimes the “tough love” that many kids need but don’t get at school or even at home. Training at Star will greatly improve your child’s fitness, self discipline, confidence and ability to protect themselves when necessary. They also have a LOT of fun. Many thanks to the wonderful coaches at Star!!!
If you're looking to find a great environment to train, either for fitness, self defense or competition, Coach Yousef can help you reach your goals. Classes here are very inviting, and you get a chance to train with a broad range of students, in addition to the excellent coaches. Coach Yousef is a highly skilled wrestler and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner with a strong pedigree. He's very approachable, and genuinely cares about the development of his students. In addition to BJJ and Wrestling, you'll find that Striking, MMA and Children's courses are also available, and Star's pricing and packed schedule, you can definitely find a way to fit it into your busy life.
Been training BJJ here for the last three months. I’ve always wanted to train BJJ for most of my adult life and finally got the courage to walk through the doors. You get great instruction from both coach Daniel and Coach Yousef. Several members go consistently and are tough partners to train with (only makes you better). The gym has a balanced mix of both No Gi and Gi so that you have variety in your training and the skills acquired. If you’re looking for a great BJJ gym, Star is it. Come over and train. We’ll see you on the mats.
My go to place for brazilian jiu jitsu, followed my original coach Daniel to this place after initial gym closed down and it's been an amazing experience. Yousef is the head coach and has good knowledge base for all the grappling, will answer any questions asked during class, plus it's a great learning environment too. All those who train are great partners, looking to help you improve and there is a relaxing yet strong vibe here. I always get a chance to ask questions after class as well, Yousef and others who train regularly here are open to drilling and helping even after class ends. Love it, highly recommend!!
I cant tell you how happy I am we found Star Jiu Jitsu a few years ago. It was always nearby, but we didnt know the opportunities and benefits that would be realized once i signed my boys up (3 total!). Yusef was great from the start and then the boys changed disciplines once the kids boxing got started! Tabitha and Ron have been so good to our boys in so many ways. My kids can struggle so much at times. One is on the spectrum and they both have mood disorders. The way they have worked and dealt with them, has always been so grattifying to watch. The way they challenge, encourage, and console at times, is really special to watch. Ane always feels like a family here. Thank you Star Jiu Jitsu!!!
