I have been doing BJJ at AMBJJ for just over a year now. I started my journey at 47 years old. I can’t say enough great things about AMBJJ, Professor Alex and all the coaches. On a personal level, BJJ has helped me become not only physically stronger, but also emotionally stronger to deal with the day to day of being an entrepreneur. I’m a lot more confident in other areas of my life. My 5 yr old son also started last year too and it has also helped him with his confidence. My son is a sensitive and shy kid, but Professor Alex has done wonders with him. It’s amazing watching him run, do takedowns and knowing how to defend himself. We did private lesson with him to start because he was overwhelmed with all the kids. Then one day he tells us he’s ready to join the group class. And he’s been going since then. And finally, my wife also attended the women’s only class and recently the noon class with me. I love watching her journey as she no
AMBJJ is hands down one of the best jiu-jitsu academies in Dallas. Professor Alex Martins leads with world-class instruction, creating an environment that’s both welcoming to hobbyists and focused on producing champions who dominate the Dallas competition scene. Every time I visit, I’m challenged and pushed to improve—it’s an incredible place to grow on and off the mats. Even as a member of an affiliate school, I’m always welcomed as if I’m a full time member of the AMBJJ academy. I’ve had some of the best times competing with this team. The culture Professor Alex Martins has built is outstanding—family-oriented, supportive, and inspiring. A great legacy to follow. Highly recommend AMBJJ to anyone looking to train in Dallas!
I stayed in Dallas for a few days for business and wanted to stay fresh and train. I researched a few academy's in the area and Alex Martins BJJ showed at the top of the list. It took a minute to find the location because Google Maps sent me to the main street side of the building but I was able to find it when I found Beatrice St. The parking lot was deceiving because as soon as I walked into the door I was mind blown at the facility. This was definitely the most beautiful and professional jiu jitsu gym I've ever trained at. It's thing you only see in UFC embedded shows! I took a 12pm class that was taught by Alex Martins himself. The way he teaches is the best in the industry. His ability to break everything down and keep everything simple and focused makes memory retention so much easier. I also took a private class from Professor Max. This was one of the most valuable private classes I've ever taken. He helped me tune up my half gua
Probably the best place to start if you’re looking to start or continue your jiu jitsu training! Alex Martin is an incredible teacher and truly cares about every student who joins. I had the pleasure of taking a free self-defense class for Women recently, and he taught us about a variety of realistic situations and how to escape from them. My boyfriend has been training with AMBJJ for about 4 months and he has had nothing but great things to say! Alex Martin and his wife are some of the kindest people we’ve met since moving to Texas this year, and I would highly recommend checking out AMBJJ!
I want to express my deepest gratitude to the entire staff coach, Alex, for the incredible opportunity he provided for my grandson. When he wasn’t feeling well and doubted his ability to participate in the world-class competition, Alex offered him unwavering comfort and encouragement. Despite his doubts, he managed to secure a podium finish twice. Every time he returned home, he would brag about the immense joy and excitement he experienced during the competition. We truly appreciate your warm welcome and support in welcoming him into the team. Also Will be signing up my other granddaughter soon.Continue to be amazing and Blessed.
Been training for about 3 years now and one of favorite things to do while traveling is visit other gyms. My cousin has been training at this gym for about 8 months now so he brought me in for 2 classes and they were great. I took a noon nogi class as well as a morning gi class and they were both such a great time. Everyone is so helpful and nice, the teaching style is great, and the head coach, professor Alex is such an amazing person. I will definitely be returning whenever i visit Dallas again!
