Musei no Tora Bujinkan reviews

Rated 5.0/5 across 105 Google reviews.

Joining Musei no Tora has been one of the most humbling and transformative experiences of my life. Every class challenges me…physically, mentally, and emotionally. Yes, I’m often sore. Yes, it’s frustrating at times. Yes, I’ve shed a tear or two. But the growth that comes from stepping onto the mat and pushing through those moments is profound. This isn’t just martial arts training; it’s a journey into discipline, patience, resilience, and self-awareness. The teachings here aren’t about perfection—they’re about presence, perseverance, and learning to embrace discomfort as a teacher. I’ve walked away from every session feeling stronger, more grounded, and more connected to something deeper than technique. Michael creates an environment that is both demanding and deeply respectful. He meets you where you are but never lets you stay there. I’ve grown more in these walls than I thought possible, and I’m only just beginning!! If you’re looki
The training facilities have ample space for training and more than adequate equipment. The instructor, Michael Cody; is knowledgeable and very personable. He cares not only in what he teach, but in the progrees and well being of his students. The atmosphere of the dojo is really warth and accomodating; the students were really welcoming and treat everyone with respect and heartfelt warmth. Is like a family that gathers together to share in the art. Overall, if looking for a place to start you journey in the martial arts in Knoxville, I couldn't recommend a better place. Edwin J Sostre
I've trained in a lot of different classes and styles and have been looking forward to training in Bujinkan for years. The environment in the class is very relaxed and it encourages you to embody your own understanding of the techniques while trying to remain true to the spirit of the originals. I really enjoy the style and structure of the class and it's also a really friendly group to boot.
So far my time training with instructor Michael and the other students has been great. Learning the techniques are quite easy due to the instructor explaining his movements in ways that everyone can understand. He will also give historical facts for the techniques used and their practicality in contemporary society. You can tell that he is very passionate and serious about training but the classes have a laid back atmosphere that does not pressure the students.
Training with the Musei no Tora Bujinkan has been a great experience. Michael is a great teacher and the environment is very friendly. I used to train in karate and that was always such a competitive environment, everyone always wanted to be better than the next person. Here it feels like we are all just pupils working towards a similar goal. Overall 10/10 and highly recommend for both the trained and untrained.
Very considerate, thorough, inspiring instructor. People are also very friendly and helpful and the class is fully equipped with training gears. I definitely recommend this class to anyone, who is interested, in learning Classical Japanese martial arts to come and try it out.
