We moved to TN last year and really found our second home at Lucas Lepri BJJ Knox. Before we arrived, our coaches and friends from our previous BJJ gym said “That is the one. That is the gym you need to move close to and join if you want them to have the best training.” I am so glad we listened to their advice! The level of dedication and quality of instruction Coach Laban Propst and his team give all of their students is second to none. Our kids’ confidence levels have gone up exponentially all the while forging new friendships with their teammates and forming bonds of trust with their coaches, each of whom has a unique connection with them. They are like family and I look forward to watching my kids’ grow in this sport they live so much.
Clean facilities, great team, good hard training. Just passed my one year of training jiu jitsu and Im very grateful I got my start at LLBJJ Knox. Laben and the rest of the coaches are very knowledgeable, helpful and create a very welcoming environment. Very grateful for my training partners and the coaches who have helped me get to where I am and will continue to push me to what I’m capable of. If you’re wanting to give jiu jitsu a try, this is the place to be.
I've been training at this BJJ gym since 2020, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The instruction is top-tier technical, explicit, and rooted in real experience. The coaches take the time to explain the "why" behind everything, not just the "how," which has leveled up my understanding and performance on the mats. The atmosphere is respectful and focused. No egos, just people putting in real work and helping each other grow. Whether you're brand new or have years of experience, you’ll find solid training partners and a community that supports your goals. This gym isn’t just a place to train it’s where you get better, stay humble, and earn every bit of progress. Highly recommend it to anyone serious about learning BJJ the right way.
Lucas Lepri Knoxville is absolutely the best! The gym is clean, ran professionally and the coaching is top notch! My family has members of the both the kids and adults program- both are taught with amazing skill knowledge, passion and love of the sport and the participants! Coach Laban is an amazing coach and mentor to all his BJJ students! His passion, dedication, and pursuit of excellence shows in every class! Coach Laban and all of his support coaches are all adept, proficient, and skillful.
I have been LOVING my time here. We’ve made it a family affair and signed up myself, my husband and my 5 year old daughter. As someone who has never done BJJ previously, I feel totally welcome and very encouraged. Everyone is so kind, welcoming and helpful. As a woman I feel completely comfortable and have jived with other females there who have been nothing but encouraging and helpful in all ways, especially instruction. Laban is a phenomenal trainer. You can tell his clients aren’t just a paycheck but he finds absolute joy in what he does. He makes you feel right at home from day one and motivates you in a way that makes you want to keep coming back. The kids class is a THRILL and it’s not only helped my daughter make friends and get a good night of sleep lol, but she is learning respect, hierarchy, discipline and ways to protect herself that she’ll carry for life. I can’t thank Lucas Lepri BJJ, Laban and staff enough!
An incredible gym with excellent instructors and supportive teammates. Just a few months shy of 2 years training there and I'm glad I stuck with it. Everyone I've trained with in that time has welcomed the dumb newbie questions and offered lots of explanation and insight into techniques. Even for first-timers or beginners, Laban and the LLBJJ team help you over the learning curve quickly. The 30-day free trial is an unheard-of great deal. (I've dropped in to train in gyms around the southeast and usually see a one-day or one-week free trial!). Once you're hooked by the second week, the monthly fee is very affordable.
