My 8-year-old daughter has been practicing Jiu-jitsu at this club on a daily basis, and I couldn’t be happier with her progress. The instructor team here is exceptionally experienced, many are active participants (and winners!) in competitive tournaments and some are high-level belts in multiple martial arts. What sets this club apart is their unwavering patience and gentle approach with kids. They pay meticulous attention to details, ensuring that our young practitioners develop both physical skills and sportsmanship. In just 9 months, my little girl transformed from a novice to a confident duelist who can comfortably roll with bigger, stronger opponents. It’s not just about learning the moves; the coaches instill strategic thinking, emphasizing positions over brute force submissions. Besides being outstanding instructors, the staff is all great humans, helping and caring for others. Their efforts ensure that both adults and kids have
I was in town in Reading, PA for work and was in hopes of finding a good BJJ academy to train at while in town. Quickly found BCBJJ and what a treat this place was. Great instructors and members - super friendly and welcoming, very inviting, and super hard nosed folks who want to put in work (in the best way). Went to both gi and no gi classes on separate nights and had an absolute blast. Super appreciative to step into a gym with no ego, no shortage of training partners, and a group who just plain and simple gets after it. Thanks for a great time and I look forward to my next Reading trip to get to train here again.
My children ages six and eight have been attending classes at BCBJJ for a few months. Every individual we have met at this facility has been exceedingly welcoming. The highly skilled instructors consistently provide a safe place that builds confidence, instills discipline and grows self esteem for all students. During the childrens classes there are low instructor to student ratios, which facilitates close observation and reinforcement of proper technique. All of the instructors are highly motivating and are truly invested in the success of the participants. I truly cannot say enough positive things about BCBJJ and with gratitude I give them my highest recommendation.
Berks County BJJ is not only great place to start your martial arts journey, but it is also a welcoming environment to sharpen your existing skills and excel to the next level. The individuals at Berks County BJJ welcomed me into the room and immediately started challenging me to push myself to the next level. There is great class availability and Jose and Erik are always willing to help explain something or give insight. There is also a new kickboxing and strength program that is sure to push you even further. If I didn’t move out of the area I would still be visiting 3-4 times a week. Oh and brand new mats just got installed! Definitely check it out.
Reached out to the owner, Coach Jose, about trying out his school while I’m home for a couple weeks. Was super cool inviting me in for their weekend open mat and went over the schedule for when I want to come try out my first class free. Loved the atmosphere, people, and pace of the class. Felt super welcome right off the bat and can’t beat his price for the quality of training you can get. The only downside of going here is wishing I knew about this place sooner!
I've been training at BCBJJ for about 7 weeks now, and it's been an amazing experience. The environment is incredibly welcoming, and it's clear that everyone genuinely enjoys being there. Jose, the instructor, is extremely knowledgeable and has done a fantastic job in fostering a supportive and positive culture. I highly recommend BCBJJ to anyone interested in learning Jiu-Jitsu.
