Definitely the best place to train in Westchester! If you're looking to get in shape and be the best version of yourself physically, mentally and spiritually, ECUBJJ is the place to be! ECUBJJ has been my home for the past 8+ years and I can honestly say that everyone here is super friendly no matter what each individual's goal is. There are some that train to compete at the highest level of competition and there are others that train simply to stay in shape. If you're looking for a fun and exciting way to stay in shape, while learning how to apply chokeholds and jointlocks on a whim, stop by for an intro class anytime!
There's a certain level of calm that is instilled in an individual who can confidently face a situation that can quickly turn dynamic (aka violent). My schedule is hectic and I'm not able to attend as many classes as I wish I could but with the little I've learned training with the great coaches here, I have the base line knowledge to help me deal with potentially violent individuals I may face in my daily interactions with the public and I add a little more skillset with each class that I attend. The atmosphere here is non-judgmental and it truly feels like everyone from the coaches to other trainees, all want you to succeed.
I've been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Jojo for almost 9 years and he is a fantastic instructor. The atmosphere at ECUBJJ is very friendly and everyone is always very helpful. There is something for everyone at ECUBJJ. Whether you want to be a serious competitor or are just looking to get in shape by learning an effective martial art, you can find it at ECUBJJ. I highly recommend ECUBJJ.
I signed up my son who is 5 to the kids class. I am so happy with the results! My son has a lot of energy and after signing up for classes at ECUBJJ he started getting behavior rewards at school, that never used to happen. Coach Christian and coach Brandon are amazing with kids, they have a blend of discipline and playfulness that is fair but firm. This was one of the best decisions we made for him. I highly recommend this school!
BJJ changed our lives! My kids are excited to go to class everyday. This gym is spotless, huge, and has a very welcoming group of members. All of the instructors are amazing and really take the time to get to know the children’s weaknesses and strengths. Seriously, if you want to find a place that feels like family and can also be taught by the best instructors (in my humble opinion) then East Coast United is where it’s at!
Welcoming, respectful, positive, and motivating are just a few words I would use to describe ECUBJJ in White Plains. As a complete newbie to BJJ I was a bit intimidated to step on the mat, but my experience has been wonderful so far. Every instructor I’ve worked with has been nothing but supportive - meeting me where I’m at with patience, yet pushing me to be better at the same time. This goes for all of the other students I’ve worked with as well - the focus on hard work and respect is clearly contagious! This gym is awesome!
