I left my home gym of two years to come to Inside Control Academy, and I am so impressed with the coaching, facility and the welcoming and attentive atmosphere. I have taken classes led by Coach Q, Billy, Anton and Gabe. All of their classes have been through and informative. I thought I would struggle as I transition from Gi to NoGi, but the quality of teaching has made me love NoGi more than I ever have. I have seen Coach Q teach private lessons to the children that I nanny for, and they are learning so much and enjoying it. The kids classes are equally great as Coach Anton and Charlie and absolutely fantastic with keeping children both entertained and engaged. Impressive School for mixed martial arts, I would recommend to anyone.
For BJJ training, Gabe & Anton & Coach Q are great. Super knowledgeable and super kind and patient. (Haven't had experience with their other instructors, but they're probably good too. New kickboxing instructor seems popular.) This is a great place for beginners (whether adult or kids/teens), as well as blue belts and above. They recently installed all new mats and many punching bags. Higher-level belts are generally helpful in teaching us newbies, answering our questions, giving tips, etc. Inside Control Academy has a good thing going...
Great gym! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, and the coaches clearly love teaching. Being new to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I was a bit intimidated, but the coaches and other students are really helpful and patient with me, and I feel like I've learned a lot in my short time there. As a heads-up, the classes can feel a little overwhelming in the beginning because it feels like everyone else in class knows a language and a shorthand that you don't if you're new, but stick with it because it all starts to fall into place.
I attend Gracie St. Pete strictly for the BJJ training and love it; I have watched some of the striking training they offer as well and it also looks very well done, just not for me personally. The Instructors, Gabe and Anton are awesome, very knowledgeable and wise people who care more about you training and progress than anything else. The Mat's are sanitized every day and the people I have been around all have good Hygiene (That's a big bonus for me). Overall a terrific experience and I would recommend it to anyone no matter how new, experienced, young, or old!
I was recently visiting Florida on vacation with my family. I was looking for a jiu jitsu gym to get some training in. I can't say good enough things about the Professors and students at Gracie Sr. Pete bjj. Everyone was extremely welcoming and nice. Instruction was top notch and professional. The Professor was extremely knowledgeable and taught the moves with detail and related the material easy to understand. Great spot to train! Thanks again!
I have helped others start a school and I have helped others train to fight. I am a Hall of Famer who’s trained in many styles for more than 1/2 my life . I didn’t know what to expect trying out their 3 day class trial and I was pleasantly treated and equally surprised. They were on top of things and I loved to see there were no egos it’s about learning and your personal journey. Good technique and great classes all around . It’s worth a try for You or your child from novice to pro . Great work out thanks for an awesome class looking forward to seeing you again soon!
