Hands down, this is the best place to train if you truly want to learn real mixed martial arts. Raiz MMA Academy is not one of those schools that simply hands out belts or promotions without real effort. The training here is world class, and you cannot come in and half commit. If you train here, you will work hard, sweat, be challenged, and earn every bit of progress you make. One of the things that truly separates this academy is the quality of the instructors. They are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in the development of every student. They take the time to break techniques down step by step and make sure you truly understand what you are doing. Their patience and attention to detail create an environment where beginners and experienced fighters alike can grow. I will also be honest about something personal. When I first started training here, my anxiety was extremely bad. Even though I lived right across th
RAIZ Jujitsu is one of a kind of Schools from the moment I walked in almost 2 years ago, I knew it was home for me. For 3 main reasons: 1. The RAIZ family- the community and camaraderie built here by Leo and Staff on a daily basis is unparalleled and it shows from the youth to the adults there’s room for everyone! 2. The Coaching from Head Instructor Leo to other high experienced Staff and Team members and everyone one else in between makes it an environment that challenges you yet also allows you to enjoy the journey at your pace and in your timing. 3. Lastly the training- to put it in simple terms, you get what you put in! what are you willing to invest in yourself? The ability to learn how to defend one’s self while simultaneously learning how to be able to control a situation under your own terms in real time was pretty enticing for me. That being said what more could one ask for in a lifeline journey of Brazilian Jujitsu and Mixed
My kids recently started taking classes at Raiz Jujitsu, and I have nothing but great things to say about this place! They are amazing with the kids, super welcoming, supportive and patient. I liked the atmosphere I saw there, so I decided to take the adult class, which was also a great learning atmosphere The instructors and students are all so welcoming, supportive and patient, even if you’re old and out of shape like me. I'm so sore, but I can’t wait to go back next week!
Fantastic Martial Arts studio for kids and adults of all ages. I've been studying BJJ for about 6 months, and the experience at Raiz has been amazing, even transformational. I began as an over-50 asthmatic, and in only four months, got into the best shape of my entire life... and no longer needed my inhaler. Leo and his team push students to do their best while meeting them where they're at. For example, if flexibility is an issue with completing a move, they will guide the student through an alternate finish (adjusting posture, grip, etc). There's a strong family atmosphere at Raiz. Everyone - including other students - shows interest in our success. I can't say enough great things about Raiz!
The owner & instructor, Leo, is awesome! He is great with the kids, and the kids all love him. You can tell that he genuinely loves teaching. He is patient and encouraging. It is obvious that he truly cares about his students. Being in the school feels like being part of a family. It’s just a really friendly, comfortable atmosphere. He does a great job of giving individual instruction even in the group classes as well. I am so glad that I found Raíz. I have been very happy here.
Leo is a fantastic and very patient instructor. I really enjoy his encouragement to the kids. The kids listen and improve fairly quickly. It is an exciting and very positive environment of learning and discipline. My son loves how fun the classes are. The space is always safe and clean. We are recommending to all of our friends! Classes are affordable with accessible schedules.
