Way of Jiu Jitsu Academy reviews

Rated 5.0/5 across 157 Google reviews.

I started training at Way of Jiu Jitsu back in 2022 I guess. I trained there for about a year and a half before moving overseas. Since leaving this jiu jitsu academy, I have trained at three or four other places… Some big schools… Some small schools… Some in the US… Some in Europe… Way of Jiu Jitsu is by far the best academy I have attended. Now, whenever my family and I visit Denver, getting in a few training sessions at Way of Jiu Jitsu is a must, even for my wife and two kids. Way of Jiu Jitsu is great because its leadership has a ridiculous amount of experience competing and training and teaching. The instructors genuinely care about their students and never hesitate to meet you where you are. Whether you are a casual beginner or a competitive athlete, if you value an environment of mutual respect and community that challenges you to be your best every time you show up, then you have found the right place to train: at Way of Jiu Jit
I started training at Way of Jiu Jitsu a few years ago, and it quickly became one of the highlights of my week. Each class offers valuable lessons—both on and off the mat—and the welcoming community is genuinely committed to helping one another grow in skill and character. The gym offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for all levels, from beginner to advanced, plus no-gi and judo. Professor Nobuo is well connected in the local BJJ and judo scenes, regularly promotes tournaments, and frequently hosts high-quality seminars in both disciplines. I highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area interested in self-defense, improving their grappling, or building self-discipline.
I have attended Way of Jiu-jitsu Academy for over 6 years now. I started at age 10 and did 3 years in the kids class before "graduating" to the adult class. In the kids class, I learned all the fundamentals of Jiu-jitsu as well as important life lessons, like discipline, work ethic, and accountability. In the adult class, I built on the fundamentals I learned as a kid. All of the instructors are very knowledgeable and skilled, and everyone is kind and respectful. I would absolutely recommend this gym.
I’ve been training off and on since about 2007 or so, and have trained at many different schools in the US and abroad. Nobu and the way of jiujitsu team are absolutely legit. It’s a great group of people with very solid jiujitsu. Everyone is super welcoming, no one is trying to hurt you and you can get in really tough training or really casual training depending on your needs, mood age and athletic background. This is the place to train in denver.
You will meet your match at Way of Jiu-jitsu!!! I tried different gyms in town and ONLY here I receive the technical and the physical training that I was looking for! There are plenty of very experienced fighters who challenge me and support me accordingly. This gym is for everyone, whether you a lady looking for self defense classes, a beginner or experience wrestler, you will find what you're looking for!!! The culture is amazing!!! I was able to perform at my highest level at my first competition because of the support and the skills that i received here. I am always looking forward to next class!
We’ve been bringing our kids here for over 2 years, and it has been an amazing experience. The coaches are all incredibly professional, patient, and skilled at teaching jiujitsu in a way that challenges the kids while keeping it fun. We’ve seen so much growth not only in their skills and confidence, but also in discipline and teamwork. What really stands out is the strong sense of community—everyone is welcoming and supportive, and it truly feels like a family. We’re so grateful to have found this place and can’t recommend it highly enough!
