What more could you want from a jiu-jitsu gym than GRPL Haus’ motto: Work hard and be nice. Our kid started at a different gym, but everything changed at her first tournament. Her opponent was coached on the mat by Coach Trey, and my husband and I immediately knew we wanted our daughter learning from someone like him—someone who so clearly cares about the personal growth, confidence, and well-being of the kids he coaches. Now, she is. GRPL Haus is a true gem for helping kids develop hard work, physical and mental strength, self-defense skills, grit, and meaningful human connection. The coaches, along with Rachel, have intentionally built a community rooted in respect, kindness, and excellence—one where kids are supported as athletes and as people. Every kid would be lucky to be experience this. Bonus points: GRPL Haus is building an incredible group of girl jiu-jitsu athletes alongside an equally amazing group of boys. Seeing girls repr
I’m not sure I can say enough good things about GRPL HAUS and its staff. They are simply wonderful! Our son started GRPL HAUS in Summer 2024. He has since attended 3+ practices per week, and he loves it. He goes happily and without complaint, and he comes home with more confidence, more self-defense skills, and life lessons. Coach Trey teaches life lessons after every class - it truly is fantastic to hear him educating the kids about ethics, positive leadership, and building trust and community. Coach Gonzo and Coach Drew (co-owner) teach the students applicable skills. They always keep the classes fun and informative. They work on body strength, they work on Jiu Jitsu technique, and they insist on safety and hygiene. Meanwhile, Rachel D. is quietly the heartbeat of the gym. She treats the kids like her own. She keeps the systems running, and she takes a ton of pride in how her gym operates. I highly recommend sending your children to t
Visited GRPL HAUS Jiu Jitsu while in Colorado and had an amazing experience! Coach Gonzo was welcoming and taught a great class on escaping from back control with clear, detailed instruction. The team was friendly, respectful, and rolled with great control. My 7-year-old son, who trains in Texas, joined the kids’ class that evening and loved it — the coaches made it fun while still teaching strong fundamentals. The gym is spotless, well-organized, and has a great community vibe. Whether you’re visiting or local, this is a must-try academy!
We met Coach Trey in early 2024 when we first signed our son up for jiu jitsu at another gym. We were bummed when Coach Trey left to open his own gym a couple months later but figured we’d stay with the gym we were at since it was closer to our home. However, after Trey had left we noticed pretty quickly the decline in the quality of the classes, my son was no longer looking forward to practices and the customer service and energy was leaving much to be desired so we followed him to GRPL HAUS. I might be driving a little further but it has been worth every extra minute in the car to watch my son (6 y/o) THRIVE in his jiu jitsu abilities, leadership skills, and confidence. Coach Trey has a way with kids that is both nurturing and strengthening and I am SO grateful to him and his team for their efforts, friendship, and the positive/emboldening influences they possess and teach my children.
My husband started training at GRPL HAUS six months ago and he’s absolutely hooked. This is his first jiu jitsu gym, and I honestly don’t think he could have found a better place to start. The coaches are super supportive, knowledgeable, and really take the time to help everyone improve—no matter what level they’re at. He always comes home excited to talk about what he learned and how much he’s improving. It’s been amazing to see how much confidence and passion he’s developed through training here. GRPL HAUS has become such a positive part of his life, and I’m really grateful he found a place with such a great community. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get into jiu jitsu!
We love this gym! They’re amazing with kids of all ages and really focus on listening, respect, and building good habits. My son has gotten so much out of these classes. Beyond getting stronger, he is more confident and more disciplined. He’s been training for over six months now and is always eager to show Coach Trey and the other coaches what he can do. I love the belt/stripe reward system that teaches hard work and healthy competition. It’s great to see the junior coaches help with the little ones, it’s such a cool way to teach leadership and responsibility. The gym is also very clean and the staff is friendly and very organized.
