WE LOVE TRUE MARTIAL ARTS! Professor Johnny for the adults AND NOW KIDS JIUJITSU program makes self-defense and anti-bullying techniques extremely fun. Master TJ's Taekwondo program is top-notch; the kids absolutely love it. The gym also hosts kickboxing classes, Parents Night Outs, Women's Self-Defense classes and brings in specialists from Stretch Labs on occasion to maintain our health and well-being. More importantly, we love being at a gym that has a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and community. Egos are left at the door when you step into True Martial Arts.
I don't train in jiu jitsu, but my wife and daughter have practiced for several years. Simply put, Professor Johnny is one of the best teachers of any kind I've ever seen. He has given my daughter private lessons for many years, and it shows in her improvement. Professor Johnny has a gift for simplifying complex concepts and tasks. His jiu jitsu style is solid and fundamental, and the concepts he teaches don't fade with the current fads. I highly recommend the jiu jitsu instruction at True Martial Arts.
True Martial Arts is absolutely outstanding! I had the privilege of witnessing their students and coaches in action firsthand when we hosted the Open Colorado Cup Tournament, and I was truly impressed. Their students are incredibly strong, disciplined, and well-trained — a clear reflection of the dedication and passion their coaches pour into every class. You can see that the coaches at True Martial Arts genuinely care about their students’ progress, confidence, and success. I joined True at the beginning of March and immediately was welcomed by not only the instructors, but all of the students as well. It is a super family friendly atmosphere with great instructors who will take time to talk with you and help you progress at the pace you desire. I have also signed my 6 year old daughter up for classes and enjoy watching her beam wih pride when she learns new techniques. I have limited experiences with Martial arts gyms with only a trial at 1 other gym before True, but with True i immediately knew it was a perfect fit.
Our daughter has been attending True Martial Arts for just a few weeks, and the growth we’ve seen in her confidence has been incredible. She walks taller, speaks with more assurance, and truly looks forward to every class. TJ is an exceptional instructor—his talent and deep knowledge of martial arts are evident in every session. But what really stands out is his ability to connect with and inspire the kids. He creates an environment that is both disciplined and encouraging, which makes all the difference.
