I wanted to leave a positive review about this place! I’ve never done anything remotely close to jiu-jitsu in my life but I was excited to try and I’m glad I was able to experience a 10-day free trial at this place. I felt welcomed on the first day and each day I was able to come afterwards. Rey is a very personable instructor and the type of guy who really cares that students are encouraged and learning the basics. His oldest daughter helps to instruct the class, and you can tell she’s just as great as her dad and can hold her own. Also, the students I met were kind, welcoming, and patient to help you learn the techniques of the class. I never thought in a my life I’d ever try jiu-jitsu, but boy did I love it on the first day! I was definitely hooked from day one. I think everyone should learn this martial art after what I experienced on my first day. It was fun and challenging in the best way possible. I definitely plan on returning a
My son and I started with Rey in the fall of 2020. We love the atmosphere and the instructors and higher belts are super patient and helpful. We also love the diversity of students, male, female, young, and old. There are a number of Jiu Jitsu philosophies and approaches. We chose Gracie because they focus on self-defense, not sport. Their combatives program is mature, structured, and combined with outstanding online curriculum makes this an incredible value. Since most street fights end up on the ground, I highly recommend you check them out. 2023 UPDATE: We are now 3 years into our Gracie journey and it continues to exceed our expectations! My son and I both received our blue belts from Ryron Gracie (what an honor!) and my youngest son is now in the Combatives program. Coach Rey is a phenomenal coach and does an incredible job teaching everyone, from brand-new beginners to seasoned veterans. His attention to detail is incredible and h
If you're looking to learn Gracie Jiu Jitsu, I highly recommend going to this gym. The lead instructor (Rey), and his staff are extremely helpful and knowledgable, making training here an enjoyable experience. The gym is clean, convenient, and everyone is very friendly. Additionally, during my extended stay here from out of town, Rey and his family went above and beyond to accommodate me. For those interested in the different curriculums under the Gracie University program, this is the perfect place to train.
I love it here. Its my home, my jiu jitsu home. Coach Rey is a incredibly coach. He's jiujitsu is so detailed that if you do what he tells you, your technique will be flawless , smooth and with a lot of control. He is especially good with the kids. If there's any parent out there worry if there kid is going to get best advice and training a can't recommend enough. Bring your kid to coach Rey you won't be disappointed.
My child absolutely loves the jiu-jitsu class! The instructors are fantastic at creating a very detailed and personable training environment. They pay close attention to each child's individual progress, making sure everyone feels supported and challenged. Not only are they teaching valuable self-defense skills, but they also instill discipline and confidence in the kids. It's a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment. Highly recommend for any parent looking to enroll their child in a positive and empowering activity!
At first, I was really skeptical that the gym would work for my high-energy, often distracted kid. I decided to give it a month before making a decision. I soon saw how great the coaches were at gaining all the kids' attention and making learning the moves fun. What really blows me away is how well my daughter retained everything she is learning. One month turned into more than a year, and watching my daughter's confidence soar has been priceless. I'm super grateful to all of the coaches at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Colorado Springs.
