I have been training jiu jitsu for about 5 years now at Pedro's. What started out as just a place to exercise became something more. Training at the dojo has been my therapy, I train to relieve stress. I train to learn and grow within myself, and lastly I come here to make new friends. I started women's self defense in 2015 for about five months. I knew nothing about jiu jitsu, other than what I saw on TV or on the internet. After five months of self defense classes, Sensei Pedro asked me to try the regular jiu jitsu classes. In the beginning of 2016, I took my first regular jiu jitsu class. I was nervous at first, but learning self defense is the foundation of jiu jitsu. So, what I had learned carried over. In the beginning I was definitely out of shape (while drilling and sparring), but the thrill of it made me want to train more. Plus, Sensei and the other teammates are friendly and willing to help. Training jiu jitsu can be like a r
For everyone's reference I am BJJ purple belt I've been doing jiujitsu for about 8 years. My daughter is almost 6 years old has been coming to Pedro Soriano's gym for almost two years now. She has learned and grown in her character tremendously. My daughter used to be very timid and shy. But now she is much more assertive and confident not only in the gym but in her overall life. Pedro does a good job of teaching practical jiujitsu techniques that are appropriate to their age at the same time teaching the kids to be confident and show respect. I really appreciate what Pedro Soriano has done for my daughter and would recommend his kids class. I have visited Pedro's adult class as well several times. The class is great. Pedro teaches all the techniques with great detail and is very attentive to everyone in the class including me. He has given me a lot of good tips and advice for my jiujitsu and even sparred/rolled with me himself. I defin
If you're on the fence about joining a jiu-jitsu gym, just go for it. You wont regret it. At 34 years of age, i just started my journey and it was definitely the right decision for me to start jiu-jitsu and join this gym. Sensei Pedro runs a great program for adults, teens and kids and has a great ability to know when a gentle nudge or a push in the right direction is needed. Sensei Pedro has also created a community that is very welcoming and family oriented. My daughter joined this gym before I did and I love how much she has progressed not only on the mats but more importantly, mentally. She's become much more confident and learned so many core lessons in being respectful, humble and overall a good person. She's told me how much fun the classes are and how much she likes being around the other kids who are now her friends. Sensei Pedro puts a lot of emphasis on just how important it is to practice jiu-jitsu in a safe manner and to no
UPDATE: This place continues to be a great place to train. I have now been with Sensei Pedro for over 5 of the 6 years I have been training. My three kids have now been with him for over 3 years. His school continues to be a clean and friendly home away from home. He treats my kids as his own and ensures a safe, fun, and disciplined environment during the adult and kids classes. Furthermore, his coaching staff provides top-notch instruction. Give this place a try; you don’t have anything to lose. I started Jiu Jitsu with Sensei Pedro back in 2017 and it was one of the best choices I’ve made in my adult life. After a couple months military orders moved me away,so over the next year I did everything I could to get permanently stationed back in Los Angeles, just to continue training with him. As soon as we moved back I enrolled my two sons. It has been great watching my boys mature through BJJ and it is nice to know they are learning respe
Pedro Soriano's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an exceptional martial arts academy that I highly recommend. The instructor, Pedro, possesses an incredible depth of knowledge and expertise in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His passion for the sport is evident in his teaching style, which is both informative and engaging. During my visit, I found the gym to be incredibly welcoming to my friend Sage and me. The friendly atmosphere and supportive community made us feel right at home. If you ever find yourself in the area, I strongly encourage you to drop by Pedro Soriano's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and experience the outstanding training firsthand.
We have had 4 of our kids (ages 3 - 14) in Pedro Soriano Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes and it is one of the best things we’ve done for them. When they first started we were new to the area and we have no family near us. This place gave them a sense of community. Pedro, the coaches, the kids, and parents were all so welcoming. One of our kids has a difficult time focusing and I truly feel like the classes here have helped him so much. He loves it and really looks up to Pedro and the coaches. Our daughter has gained confidence she lacked before. I highly recommend.
