Fantastic Training Experience at AKXE Jiu Jitsu Academy I recently had the pleasure of training at AKXE Jiu Jitsu Academy, and I must say it was an incredible experience. This place is truly a gem for anyone looking to learn and practice Jiu Jitsu. I would highly recommend it to both beginners and experienced practitioners. First and foremost, the atmosphere at AKXE Jiu Jitsu Academy is welcoming and friendly. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm. The instructors and fellow students alike were incredibly supportive and always willing to help me improve my techniques. It created a positive and encouraging environment, which made me feel comfortable and motivated to push myself further. The training sessions themselves were outstanding. The instructors are highly skilled and knowledgeable, providing clear instructions and valuable feedback. They take the time to break down compl
Fantastic Jiu Jitsu Academy! I can’t say enough great things about this place. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about each student’s progress — whether you’re a total beginner or an advanced practitioner. The environment is always welcoming and respectful, and the sense of community here is amazing. Classes are well-structured, with a perfect balance of technique, drilling, and live practice. The coaches take time to explain every move clearly and ensure everyone understands before moving on. You can tell they’re passionate about helping students grow both on and off the mat. The academy is also clean, well-organized, and family-friendly, with great energy and people who make training something to look forward to. I’ve gained not only skills and confidence but also some awesome friends. If you’re looking for a jiu jitsu school that combines quality instruction, positive culture, and great vibes, this is the
This review is way overdue!! After my daughter’s first jiu jitsu experience, I didn’t think she would be willing to give jiu jitsu another shot but after her introductory lesson at AKXE, she asked me to PLEASE enroll her. Her first day experience was the greatest, lead professor Rodrigo, instructors and ALL the students in the mat came to welcome her into the class. They were incredibly friendly and as a mom of an only child, it was important to me that she felt welcomed. AKXE is great for all experience levels and ages, starting as young as 3 years old. It is truly amazing how engaged the younger students are. Professor and instructors teach technique to the younger students through play and the kiddos LOVE IT!! Professor Rodrigo and instructors, Fabio, Joao, And Pablo, to name a few, are truly the best. Across all experience levels they take the time to explain and show the different moves, breaking them into segments to make it easie
Took my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class tonight and loved it! I came in with a solid background in Shotokan Karate, so I wasn’t a total beginner to martial arts, but ground work is a whole new world for me. The instructors were awesome—patient, clear, and great at breaking things down without making me feel like I was starting from scratch. Warm-up got me moving, drilling focused on fundamentals, and my rolling partner was super helpful, giving pointers and matching intensity perfectly. Left sweaty, a bit humbled, but seriously excited to keep going. Clean gym, welcoming vibe, and people who clearly love BJJ. Highly recommend if you’re thinking about trying it—especially if you have some martial arts experience already. Can’t wait for round two!
I enrolled my son in this Jiu Jitsu class and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The coaches are incredibly respectful, patient, and supportive with the kids. They not only teach great technique but also focus on discipline, confidence, and respect- values that carry over outside the gym. My son looks forward to every class and is learning so much while having fun. As a parent, it gives me peace of mind knowing he’s in such a positive and encouraging environment. Highly recommend!
One of the best environments to learn BJJ. Rodrigo is an excellent teacher and friend. My entire family has trained at the academy for more than 10 years and we would never think about going anywhere else. I am very proud to have him as my instructor and friend. He sets the tone for the entire gym and his student are a great group of men, women and children. We are all one big family. Do not miss out on an opportunity to take a class and see for yourself.
