Gracie Barra Pasadena has been such a blessing for both me and my child. As a parent, I can honestly say the coaches here go above and beyond. They don’t just teach kids Jiu Jitsu—they teach them confidence, respect, and life lessons that will stay with them long after class is over. What stands out the most to me is how much they truly care about the kids. They curate the kid’s training partners to make sure training partners are a good fit so the kids always feel safe and supported, which gives me so much peace of mind. As a student myself, I’ve found the same care and positivity on the mats. The facility is always clean and welcoming, and the coaches are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also patient, encouraging, and never judgmental. Training here has pushed me to grow, not just in Jiu Jitsu, but as a person. This school feels like a community where both kids and adults are valued and cared for. I can’t recommend Gracie Barra
After visiting dozens of martial art schools, I was lucky enough to find Gracie-Barra Pasadena. Coach Hass and Professor David are amazing!! The way the welcome the kids to class makes each one feel special and important to the entire class. Safety is always a big concern, and with Professor David and Coach Hass you can see the attention and care they provide to every student, from those who have just started to those who are more experienced. There are schools all over the area where I live, but the class, the instructors, and the highest level of discipline and dedication to their students makes this the only place I would take my family! Thank you Professor David and Coach Haas, I hope everyone takes the time to come out and see the school, and give their kids the chance to train with such dedicated, friendly, and inspiring teachers that you both are. Professor David is the head instructor at Gracie Barra Pasadena. He is a jiu jitsu champion from the world renowned Gracie Barra HQ Competition Team. Prof. David's friendly and enthusiastic personality made me feel comfortable and excited about being in class with him. The atmosphere at the training center is friendly, family oriented, and fun. There is a lot of mat space, separate changing rooms for men and women...plus separate restrooms as well. They offer classes for the entire family. My children have been training at this gym since it first opened in June, and it has been wonderful experience from day one. Professor David and Coach Haas are exceptional instructors who bring both expertise and heart to every class. Their ability to connect with kids is truly impressive. They break down complex BJJ techniques into simple, age-appropriate steps that children can easily understand and apply. My kids look forward to every class. It’s clear that Professor David and Coach Haas are passionate about what they do. They have created a family-like atmosphere. The gym is very well maintained and they keep everything clean.
I’m incredibly grateful to have started my Jiu Jitsu journey at Gracie Barra Pasadena. Training in Jiu Jitsu is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and this school has been the perfect place to begin. The Professors and Coaches are exceptionally kind and patient. My son just started his first Jiu Jitsu classes with Gracie Barra Pasadena and let me just say he is one happy, excited young kid when he know he’s going to class. The class may be filled with other young kids but both Prof. David and Coach Haas really focus on each kid individually and give them the time of day and the fact that both coaches are their training the kids is awesome. I am so thankful I found this place and the fact that my child loves it makes me know as a parent he is comfortable and enjoys the atmosphere and life lessons he is learning.
