Legit gym. If you are looking for a proper mix of modern combat training and a diverse posse to do work with then this is a great place to learn as well as have fun. Pacific Ring Sports (PRS) has all of the essentials one needs to get down. The trainers and coaches are some of the best in the game. I have trained with Roberto “The Hitman” Garcia at three different gyms in my life: City Boxing in San Diego; UND1SPUTED in North Park; and Pacific Ring Sports in the Bay Area. Robert is a top notch person and he will give you the opportunity to develop your athletic agility and ability regardless of your skill level. Ganyao “Dr. Knee” Arunleung will break you off with some real Muay Thai experience. Ganyao's sessions and one on one teaching is unparalleled and world class. Michael Regnier is an awesome individual and instructor with an appropriate history to qualify him in his role as the owner and operator of PRS. Jason Joseph is a boss. Ja
Pacific Ring was one of the first places I started my martial arts journey at when I just graduated from high school. After moving away for 10 years then coming back, I can say that it's only gotten better. One of the largest spaces in Oakland for martial arts, Pacific Ring offers beginner and competitive boxing, Muay Thai, bjj, wrestling, and MMA. Combine that with a decent area for lifting, a partial cage, a full size ring, and top caliber coaching, Pacific Ring is a great gym for all levels.
I went in today for some shin guards . I called in, and one of the coaches answered and informed that they carry fairtex guards and gloves down to the model type and price . Very good price and awesome service . I don't train there, but when I walked in the a class was going as well as the gym had others running and conditioning . Seems like a solid place to train muaythai
The BJJ coach Joe is a blackbelt and all around amazing person. He puts in time on and off the mats, welcomes new students. He gets to know everyone and you just get sense that he really cares. The quality of the Muay Thai instruction is high, focus is on techniques and combos. Good for either fitness or fight prep. Classes can get very crowded.
I've been going here for years and can say this is an amazing gym. The training is excellent (shoutout to Rob), you get a tough but captivating workout that engages your entire body, all while learning useful self defense and fighting techniques. The gym membership is also very fairly priced. Although I've moved farther from the gym, I still prefer to go to this gym because others don't compare in terms of availability, flexibility, and quality of Muay Thai classes.
Hands down, best Muay Thai gym in the Bay Area. I highly recommend you check it out. I've been going for over 3 years now and have learned a tremendous amount from the Muay Thai and boxing classes. They are beginner friendly and have great advanced classes as well.
