Since I began training at MMA BZ this march, various aspects of the gym/coaching stand out to me and I have come to greatly appreciate them. Amongst them are the gym itself has everything one would need for training in multiple disciplines, gym/training environment is safe, inclusive, and fun, classes always run as they should and if anything arises Coach Nick communicates to us whenever we need to stray from the usual training schedule. But amenities mean nothing if the Coaching isn’t there and Coach Nicks approach to training is meticulous, disciplined, and very enjoyable. It only took the 1st day of the 2 day tryout to know this is where I wanted to train and I didn’t bother looking into any other gyms. Whether it is for regular group classes or private sessions with Coach, this is a perfect place for any one of any skill level to embark/continue their martial art journey. Just be ready to sweat and put in work!
I have 3 kids ranging in age from 11 to 19 and they all attend this gym. It’s been a really positive place for all three of them. I have seen tremendous physical growth and confidence, but also mental discipline. I appreciate that coach Nick teaches life skills too, like confidence, hygiene, and even how to clean the mats. My kids have really connected with coach Nick and the community he’s created, which is welcoming, encouraging, and supportive. I truly never thought I’d be an mma mom, but the mental, physical, and emotional maturity I’ve seen develop in my three very different children has been really incredible. I am grateful we stumbled across this gym. It’s really made a huge positive impact for my kids.
Coach Nick is an amazing coach my boys trained with him for almost 3 years and my daughter for almost 2 years and let me tell you the changes in my children will blow your mind my boys beat their depression and anxiety and my daughter has all the confidence in the world they achieved their 1st and 2nd place metals at tournaments thanks to the hard training and guidance of Coach Nick we will definitely be back to the gym. The wholesome feeling you get the positive energy you receive In there it’s like no other parents I recommend training with coach Nick if your having any trouble with your child MMA will shape your child in the right direction thank you coach Nick for all you’ve done for our family. Your our Family now Bravo Zulu we will be back!!!
It’s been 4 months since I joined MMA Bravo Zulu and this is my first time practicing martial arts. I would say this has been one of the greatest experiences and things I learned. Before working out was “to burn calories and to stay active” but after joining MMA Bravo Zulu and learning jiu jitsu and muay thai, I have found purpose and joy in working out and learning jiu jitsu and muay thai. Coach Nick’s teaching and interaction with the class makes it easier to learn and enjoy yourself. He makes sure to explain and demonstrate every thing and come back to it if needed. He will point out and correct what you are doing and it’s always very helpful. And everyone in the gym is respectful and helpful, pointing out important tips during class when you’re drilling together. I competed in my first competition a few weeks ago and using the skills I learned in class in real life scenario and being placed 2nd was very rewarding. This is all thanks
I joined MMA Bravo Zulu gym about 1.5 year ago when I moved to the bay area. I wanted to get in shape but also to do something more than just working out. When I first came to a personal class with coach Nick, I knew that's the gym that I'll stick to. Coach Nick motivates and pushes everytime to the limit, and our A-team as well! warm welcome from everyone and get to work! Since I joined I learned a lot about the MMA world, every class feels like it was built with a lot of thought on how you learn from the bottom up - learning the basics, get to drill and it develops from there in the most professional way to the next class - and that goes for BJJ, Muai Thai and wrestling classes. The gym is really well equipped and clean, showing how much coach Nick cares about his place and students. I'm having really great experience with the gym, come get some new skills with the last coach you will need to choose!
If you want a coach and a great fight team that will take you far whether you want to fight and be a world champion, or just looking to get fit and find a great hobby to stay healthy and in shape, you can’t go wrong with MMA bravo Zulu. Coach Nick is a true professional, a wealth of knowledge when it comes to combat sports, especially with his experience in the striking field. The gym is clean and pristine, no issues with the equipment, gear, or hygiene. I haven’t had any issues regarding drama or attitude with any of the staff or the students of this academy, which clearly reflects on the instructors character and leadership skills, something which is unfortunately quite common when it comes to most MMA gyms, particularly the “famous” local ones that are just looking to market themselves. Coach Nick is always very friendly and personable and so are his instructors. you shouldn’t ever have any anxiety if you need questions or help with
