One of my son's classmates takes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes at A-side and recommended that we join, too. We did the free trial week and then decided to sign up for more classes. We’ve had such a great experience here! The school is very clean and well-organized. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and they strike a really nice balance of being firm but gentle. My son especially loves Coach Alexis and Professor Arman. They make the classes fun while still pushing the kids to improve and work hard. We also love that they play great music during class. The school is competition-focused (vs self-defense), so the techniques they teach are more geared towards that. But it’s not all serious. They do a great job of mixing in games with technique to keep things fun for the kids. They also offer both gi and no-gi classes (my son does both). My son goes three times a week, and the growth we’ve seen in him has been incredible. He’s more co
A-Side Jiu Jitsu is truly an exceptional place for both kids and adults. My 3-year-old daughter and I attend together, and every visit feels welcoming and inspiring. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and family-oriented, making us feel like part of a supportive community from the moment we walk in. The environment is amazing—the facility is always clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed for all ages, with a positive energy that makes it easy for everyone to feel comfortable and motivated. The professors and instructors are highly educated, not only in jiu jitsu but also in teaching. They are patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about helping each student learn and grow at their own pace. I highly recommend A-Side Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking for a place where both children and adults can thrive, learn, and enjoy the journey of martial arts together.
As a purple belt I’ve been looking for a gym with a family vibe, fun, safe training environment and good teaching for my kids. I can say without a doubt that I’ve found that for my son at A-Side. My son signed up with his best friend and now both are training 5days out of the week. They would train 7days out of the week if they could because they love it! They are having a blast and making friends while learning great Jiu Jitsu. The schools only been around for a year and they already have 2 teen world champs. Lots of good people training and i say this to make a point that the gym makes an actual effort to keep toxic people out. This can be hard to find sometimes where some owners will choose a profit over actually removing people who are hurting the safe training environment of the school. They also have a sick open mat on Sunday open to everyone. Lots of good rolls to be had 🤙🏻
I've trained at A-Side for a little over 6 months and highly recommend this gym. Whether you're just starting out with martial arts, continuing your Jiu-Jitsu journey, or want a place to get a good workout, A-Side is a great place to be. All of the instructors are professional, motivating, and easy to approach with questions. I recommend training with all of them because they each have unique teaching styles. Lastly, all of the students I've trained with at A-Side are genuine, kind, and supportive people. Within my first few weeks of training at A-Side, I immediately felt welcomed by everyone and a part of the A-Side family. Fortunately, all of the students I've trained with care about improving themselves and not about flexing egos.
I’ve been going to this jiu-jitsu gym for about a year and a half, originally bringing my nephew to train. After seeing how great the environment was, I decided to enroll myself and have now been part of the adult program for 6 months. It’s a very family-oriented place many parents bring their kids and even end up joining themselves. The gym is always clean, and they even have a Flo Water dispenser, which is a nice touch. The professor is extremely helpful and patient, and the owners are accessible and involved with the members. As a woman, I really appreciate that there are other women training here too, and the men are always respectful and supportive. It truly feels like a comfortable and encouraging space for everyone. I really enjoy the variety of classes offered Gi, No-Gi, and fitness classes all of which help improve both skills and conditioning. Overall, this gym has been an amazing experience for both me and my nephew.
I cannot say enough good things about A-Side! From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed and part of the community. The instructors and Professor's are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated to helping each student improve. The facilities are top-notch, always clean, and well-maintained (Music Playlists are dope to). Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, there's something for everyone here. The classes are well-structured, challenging, and fun. I've seen significant improvements in my technique and overall fitness since joining. What truly sets A-Side apart is the sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among the students and staff. It's not just a place to train; it's a place to grow and be part of a supportive family. Highly recommend to anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu and fitness!"
