I’m not one to write reviews but I thought I should share our experience with Gracie Barra, Kerrisdale location. We’ve had an incredible experience with Gracie Barra from the very beginning. The atmosphere is welcoming, professional, and genuinely supportive. Since joining, my daughter’s confidence and self-esteem have grown, she absolutely loves coming to class. The coaches are fantastic. That said, I want to give a special mention to Coach Teco; whose patience, technical skill, and ability to explain even the trickiest moves have really helped my daughter and me improve. They strike the perfect balance between discipline and encouragement, pushing the kids to do their best while keeping the environment positive and fun. It’s clear they care deeply about each student’s progress, both on and off the mat. A special shoutout to Daniella, her warm, calming presence truly stands out. She makes everyone feel welcome and taken care of, and sh
We have 2 kids that attend GB Kerrisdale and we would absolutely recommend you check them out. All the coaches and staff are so kind hearted, attentive and supportive and they have made our kids feel safe and cared for. We especially like it here because it is more than just jiu jitsu or a class that they love going to. We feel like they are part of a community and a team that really looks out for one another. The skills that they are learning and friendships that they are forming are invaluable and will stick with them throughout their lives. Jiu jitsu has made them feel more confident and they are physically and mentally stronger all while having fun.
Gracie Barra in Kerrisdale is fantastic! The gym is always clean, and the mats are top-notch. The instructor is really skilled and great at explaining techniques. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the teammates are supportive and fun to train with. On top of that, the changing rooms and washrooms are spotless, which really adds to the overall experience. Whether you're a beginner or have experience, you'll feel right at home here. Highly recommend!
Our daycare partnership with the gym for our little tot gym program. The staff, coaches and instructors are amazing, friendly, and patience with the kids from our daycare. We recommend anyone or daycares to contact the gym as they have amazing programs for the kids to grow their fine motor skills and development. Keep up the amazing work and the friendly family environment this gym has to offer.
I’ve known the owners for close to six years now, and when I heard they were opening a jiujitsu school, I couldn’t think of two better people to do so. They both embody the values of Gracie Barra, and in-still those values into their children, who are not only world champions themselves, but junior coaches at the school. As a parent with three kids, enrolling my children at Gracie Barra has been the best investment I’ve ever made in them, and Jenny and Alfred are two people any parent would be grateful to have in their kids lives.
Came tonight for my first free trial class and had an amazing experience. Everyone is incredibly welcoming regardless of your skill level and experience from the moment you walk in. The coaches were kind and took the time to ensure I learned the fundamentals. I think it’s easy to be intimidated by these kinds of places, especially if you’re like me and getting back into a fitness routine after some time away but I felt nothing but comfortable and welcome the whole time. Very happy to have them in the neighbourhood. Thanks for a great first experience, I will be back :)
