Vera Jiu Jitsu is a great gym for beginners like me, and intermediates as well. The classes are small, and everyone is really friendly. Adrian is a great professor, but he and his coaching staff never take themselves too seriously and they are very patient. The environment is always very lighthearted, easy-going and non-intimidating. Learning fundamentals is critical to forward progress and they are easy to learn at this gym. Competition is available for those who want to participate, but is not over-emphasized as it is in most gyms I've trained at in the past 3 years. The goal here is to learn good jiu jitsu. There is a high emphasis on safety and injury-free training which I can appreciate due to my age. Aggression is always downplayed over precision technique. Vera has become my sanctuary away from real life. I'll be moving soon, and know that it will be very hard to find a gym that fits my lifestyle, skill level and personality as w
This is truly an exceptional place! The professors here are amazing, especially with the kids. Their wisdom and experience in jiu jitsu show in every class, and they have a great way of connecting with the students. They command respect on the mat, but it’s clear it’s earned through their training style, not demanded. My 5 year old son has already shown growth under their guidance, building confidence, discipline, and a love for jiu jitsu in the short amount of time we've been here. We both can’t wait for gym days. What we really like about it is the genuine atmosphere. It’s not about flashy commercialization – it’s about respect, hard work, and growth. The professors and staff are polite, professional, and approachable. They've created an environment that feels like a second family. The quality of training is awesome, and just watching from the side I feel I've learned a thing or two. The rates are totally fair for what you’re getting.
Having never practiced anything like Jiu-Jitsu before I was a little nervous to start and try something way outside my comfort zone! Professor Adrian took all that away with his amazing teaching skills and ability to break the learning down and make it so enjoyable! After coming here for the past few months I can say my confidence has skyrocketed and it’s thanks to him and the coaches! I have the best time every class! Professor and the people that train have become like family to my husband and I who also trains here! It’s great couples therapy too 😝 if your on the fence, come give it a try! I’m so glad I did! As a woman I feel more confident in my ability now to defend myself in any given situation!!!

What an awesome Jiu Jitsu training gym! We've had our 9-year-old boy and 7 yr old girl enrolled for a while, and we are ALWAYS impressed by the talent, professionalism, care, and attentiveness of all involved. What I additonally appreciate about Vera Jiu Jitsu is the intentional teaching about respect, control, patience, fair/healthy competitiveness, self-discipline, and so sooooo many more valuable life skills!!
My daughter has been training here for 2.5 years now and I have seen such an improvement in her confidence! She has gone from a shy timid girl to an outgoing, brave and confident girl! She has blown me away with how much she has learned. This instructors here are amazing! She is now getting ready to compete in her second BJJ world league tournament and I could not be more proud!
