I started training at Renzo Gracie The Woodlands last September with my four kids (12, 10, 8, 7). We’d been wanting family jiu-jitsu for years, but no gym clicked—until Oli (He's the manager and a Coach). He was genuinely excited to have us, zero pressure or sales talk. We tested it out multiple times upon his encouragement (BJJ, Muay Thai, open mat, different days/times) to confirm it wasn’t a one-off. It wasn’t—this warm, high-energy vibe is standard here every single class. The coaches (Oli, Vinnie, Nate, Fadi, Felipe) are fantastic—patient, skilled, active competitors who love teaching and are great with kids. Our children’s program is top-tier; my kids beg to train multiple times a week. We just did our first comp—three medals (1st, 2nd, 3rd), and the non-medalist performed two belts up. That’s the coaching quality. Schedule works great (I’m a 5 AM regular), gym’s always clean, open mats are fire, upper belts everywhere for awesome

We’ve had such an amazing experience here. My son had done Karate before and earned his green belt, so he already had some martial arts experience, but he was completely new to Jiu-jitsu and a little nervous. The coaches and team made him feel welcome from day one, and he was quickly integrated into the group. We found great value in this program. The coaches are knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in the kids, not just in teaching great technique, but in building confidence, discipline, and respect. We also really appreciate that classes are divided by age range, which makes learning feel comfortable and appropriate for everyone. The atmosphere is supportive, friendly, and team-oriented. I’ve had an excellent experience training at this jiu jitsu gym. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and truly care about their students’ progress. You can tell they have a deep understanding of the art and take the time to explain techniques in a way that makes sense for all skill levels. As a smaller female, I especially appreciate how supportive and aware they are during training. They make sure I’m safe and taken care of, but they never hold me back. They still push me to improve, challenge myself, and grow on the mats. That balance is hard to find and means a lot. The atmosphere is welcoming, respectful, and motivating. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, this is a great place to learn and train. Highly recommend.
