I just wanted to give a honest review of this acadamey IMO they are the greatest gym around I’ve been to 3 In The area and me and my kids compete with the Anzelones who are the owners of this wonderful facility. I’d especially like to highlight coaches Krista,John and Shannon for kids instructors my kids love these guys. The owners and team keep the facility super clean and Professor Vince ensures to keep a welcoming, fun environment while simultaneously a great class with set drills and rolls everyday good schedules to let you know what’s going on In The week as well! We have an amazing Judo instructor as well coach Martin!! I’ve taken four classes and they were amazing coach John who does kids class has day class wrestling and early birds with coach Chris is available 6am M,W,F as well So there’s a lot of classes available all week including an amazing fundamentals class taught by coach Virgil I highly recommend if your intersed in ma
I’ve been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 11 years and I’m currently a brown belt. My family and I moved to Willis a month ago and I was seeking out a new BJJ academy to train at. I stumbled upon Gracie Humaita Willis and fell in love with the facilities. It’s a brand new school with new mats, clean bathrooms, enough spectator seating, and plenty of parking. Since day one the owners, Professor Vince and his wife Krista have made my family feel like we are apart of their family. Me and my two sons have always trained off and on in BJJ but my wife was always apprehensive about partaking in any grappling. After speaking with Krista, my wife decided to join and is now hooked. Krista is exceptional with the young kids who train here. She helps makes sure that they follow the rules and pay attention as well as getting on the mats and helping the little one drill the techniques. Professor Vince is an excellent teacher. He breaks down the mo
I’m writing this review exactly 1 year to date from when we started training here. We had just moved from South Carolina where we had left our former gym (UFC gym of Greenville) family of 4 years. We thought we’d never be as close with a gym again. After checking around the area for the most family friendly gym, we decided on Gracie Humaita. Over the past year we have developed that gym family feeling again we were afraid we had lost. This gym is what I would call “well rounded”. There’s so much talent, the kids classes are full, and I’ve been noticing the amount of women training is the most I’ve seen (which my wife enjoys having a variety of other women to train with). The owners Vince and Krista are awesome and have really built a phenomenal and welcoming gym. We have families driving 45min one way passing multiple other gyms along the way for a reason. There’s also a great wrestling program with a former D1 wrestler.
This is more than a Jiu-jitsu gym. This is a family like no other. I've been going to this gym since they opened the doors and I have watched it grow from a handful to a jammed packed mat. Professor Vince, Coach John, and Coach Precious pour into all the students that walk in the door. If you want amazing Jiu-jitsu instruction with a family feel, you found the right place.
I’ve taken a handful of 7 day trials at a couple of BJJ gyms in the area but just never found the right place for me. Then I walked in to Gracie Humaita in Willis. The head instructor/owner (Vincent) is a great teacher. He has a friendly attitude and is extremely knowledgeable. The location is a bit out of the way for me but I’m more than happy making the drive in order to train in this gym. I’ve put off joining a bjj gym for years and although I wish I had gotten started earlier, I’m glad I’m finally found the right place to train.
Highly recommend Gracie Humaita- Willis!! Jiujitzu has done so much for my family especially my son. He has learned so many skills but his maturity level and self control have improved so much in his short time under Professor Vince and team. It has also created an inseparable bond between my husband and son that I never thought was possible. If you are contemplating putting your child in Jiujitzu, just take the step and sign them up. You will not be disappointed. Has been a life changing experience for our family! Thank you Vince and Krista! ❤️
