If you’re in the Conroe area and looking for a place to train jiu-jitsu, this facility is the one. Classes are led by Professor Abel, who’s highly skilled and has accumulated many wins at a very high level of competition. The school is heavily focused on the gi, but offers a no-gi training day during Wednesdays. As a coach, Abel is constantly surveying the mats and learning every student’s strengths and weaknesses. After class, he’ll hang around and help students build their game and fine tune techniques that he noticed during sparring rounds. Whether you’re a beginner, or a seasoned competitor, A1 is the place to be.

From my experience as a teammate of Abel since 2018 I can voucher that his craft is top notch. From hands on experience as an assistant coach to where he is now, coach Abel shows his love and passion that easily transitions to the gym environment and students. He is passionate and dedicated to each of his students whether be kids or adults. It’s great seeing his passion and the details that he provides for his students especially after each round that they have in class. His experience and his personal development thru Jiu-Jitsu provides an excellent model for any student at his academy, whether they want to become professional athletes or better human beings. Would highly recommend this school for beginners and well seasoned practitioners.
Found the diamond in Texas of jiu jitsu gyms. Abel is the owner and instructor here. In a short amount of time I have seen my kids grow and improve so much. My kids leave every time as a better jiu jitsu athlete. I have checked out many gyms across the country for my kids and I would choose this gym over all of them.
