Absolutely Awesome BJJ Gym! I can’t say enough good things about this place. The quality of the people, the instruction, and the community are top-notch. Everyone is welcoming, supportive, and skilled, and the coaching is both technical and easy to absorb. I've already seen rapid growth in my skill set since joining, and I’m excited to keep learning and improving here. If you're looking for a gym that’s serious about Jiu-Jitsu but also feels like family, this is it.
Gave Pearlman Is an amazing instructor with focus on core concepts and problem solving catered to the individual student. This place is where you go to learn solid jiu jitsu, plain and simple- there is no focus on sales or contracts or hype, just affordable solid jiu jitsu. The students are all great guys and will make you feel comfortable regardless of skill level. Highly recommend this school nicely located right by the domain.
A gym with a laid back environment that focuses on teaching you bjj in a more interactive way. No pushy sales techniques and no long term contracts is a huge plus. The owner/black belt is there coaching every class and fully accessible to all skill levels. This place is a true no nonsense(yet fun) bjj experience. I can’t see myself training anywhere else.
Guaranteed to have no sales pitch. Just high quality, fundamentals based BJJ, with a close knit community. Very casual and playful atmosphere where everyone is welcoming and friendly. Oh, and there is a shower, with hot water, for those who need to clean up after class.
I visited Austin on business travel and reached out to sensei Gabe to see if I could visit for some training. Gabe welcomed me with open arms and taught an excellent gi class. Kirk, Josh and the other students were all super friendly and willing to help. If you don’t mind rolling in the heat (helps you sweat!) I strongly recommend anyone come out and visit. The class was very well done and Gabe is a great teacher. Oss!
Shield BJJ is awesome. Gabe the owner and instructor is extremely knowledgeable and well rounded. It’s a very tight knit group, and everyone is welcoming and friendly. The pricing is affordable and a great deal for the superior level of training that’s provided. Definitely Recommend shield for all levels.
