A True Family Home at Renzo Gracie Round Rock When my wife and I moved our family to Round Rock, finding the right jiu-jitsu academy for myself and our three kids (ages 16, 13, and 11) was a top priority. We tried several spots around the area—and there are plenty of great options—but Renzo Gracie Round Rock stood out. After just over a year here, I can confidently say we’ve found a home. My kids absolutely love it. My oldest son (16) has grown so much—he’s even become a helper coach in the kids’ classes and trains multiple times a day. My younger two (13 and 11) can’t get enough either, with age-appropriate classes for little kids and bigger kids keeping them engaged and excited. As a 47-year-old dad who’s been doing jiu-jitsu for years, I love rolling here too. The vibe is perfect—no egos, no one trying to “kill” you (unless you’re up for it!), just a tight-knit community focused on growth and fun. The coaches are incredible. Cam is a
Renzo Gracie Round Rock has been an excellent experience for our son. He’s been training here for about six months, and we absolutely love this studio. Every coach is outstanding. Professor Gabe and Coaches Charlie and Leanne pack each session with real instruction and hands on guidance. The kids aren’t just herded through drills. Each group is closely monitored and mentored the entire time, which means they get maximum value from every class. What really sets this place apart is that they teach more than technique. They emphasize sportsmanship, ethics, discipline, and community. You can feel that culture the moment you walk in. I didn’t want the year to end without writing a review for this incredible team. Our son has learned tremendous skills over the past six months, both on and off the mats, and we can’t wait to see where the next six months take him. Highly recommend for any parent looking for a serious, positive, and well-run jiu
I genuinely cannot praise this facility, the owner, and the staff enough. This gym really prides itself on building a community and inclusivity, which it has achieved as it is the most welcoming place I go to every week. The instructors are so knowledgeable and skilled, they are a tremendous resource to anyone looking on honing their skills. The learning curve is steep, as one can expect, but the amount of attention and instruction given really does have you feeling you’re making progress. Although the structures of the class are consistent, the instructors have varying styles of teaching, so it is really is finding a class you vibe with and sticking to it routinely. And none of this even touches on the level of workout I experience. My friends and I go to the gym weekly and still leave drenched in sweat and breathing heavy. It’s an AMAZING addition to anyone’s week. Whether due to building friendships, confidence, vascular health, or j
My daughter started attending earlier this year. What drew me to this school was the communication from coach Gabe. He was responsive and answered all my questions. I've had to cancel a trial class at another gym in the neighborhood due to being laid off and they never got back to me. My daughter loves training here and we've both built friendships already. All the coaches are amazing and it really feels like a family. Highly recommend to anyone looking to start their journey or is already on their journey looking for a place to train. Open mats are awesome with folks with various levels of experience and everyone is there to train and practice and is very respectful.
I love this gym As a seasoned martial artist i can tell you how great this gym is. It doesnt matter if this is your first day ever trying grappling/martial arts or your 20th year. It's a very welcoming and encouraging environment. The coaches have amazing technique and are very patient. I thought my BJJ was great and then I figured out I had a lot to learn. It's a great gym for either a casual person to train or someone geared towards competition. Renzo Gracie round Rock also has the best noon program I have ever been to. Noon class 5 days a week averaging 20+ people. I hope to see you on the mats!
My son tried the Sunday morning class with instructor Ryan and had a great session! It’s “family style” so kids and adults, essentially families could try the class together. He took the class with his friend and got to also partner up with his auntie who’s about his height. The gym itself was nice, clean and well organized. The teaching was one of the best! Instructor Ryan was patient and helpful, making sure all his students were able to understand the move and adjust when necessary in order to complete the move on their partner. Great session! Thank you!
