The instructors are professional, patient, and truly invested in every child’s progress both on and off the mats. They do an amazing job of combining high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction with a fun, structured, and encouraging environment for kids. The academy is always clean, well organized, and very family friendly, which is important to us as parents. Since starting the kids jiu-jitsu program, Jack’s confidence, discipline, focus, and respect for others have grown tremendously. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt welcomed into a true community and it just keeps getting better. Professor Dande is absolutely phenomenal. His knowledge of jiu-jitsu is top-notch, but what really sets him apart is how he connects with his students. He’s patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in everyone’s growth, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned competitor. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and that energy is contagious on the mats. We feel incredibly lucky to train under his guidance. The kids program here is outstanding. The instructors know exactly how to keep kids engaged while teaching them real discipline, respect, and technique. GB Westlake is an outstanding BJJ school. Very friendly welcoming environment, outstanding kids program, everything you could ask for from a school. Coach Paul is a very effective instructor and coach and so are the rest of the professors here. Definitely come in for a trial class wether you’ve never trained before or if you already have some experience, you won’t be disappointed. The mats are always clean and well maintained. I’ve trained at Gracie Barras now for over 11 years and GB Westlake is a great example of everything this team is about. Quality instruction, competitive training, and a family environment. You won’t find any massive egos here, just people who want to up their game and help each other improve.
