While traveling through Austin TX I had the pleasure of training at Paragon. What an amazing school! I can’t say enough great things about this club. Very professional, high level, top notch instructors. I had the pleasure of training with both Cory and Michael and thoroughly enjoyed their classes. Everyone including the members were super friendly and welcoming. I recommend Paragon to anyone wanting to learn jiu jitsu and change their life for the better. Thanks again guys! Wish I could have stayed in the area longer. I look forward to hopefully training with you again in the future. Sending love and blessings, CK Mackie 🙏
I had a friend recommend this academy to me. This academy is a great academy if you like me are fairly new to the world of BJJ. The technique and instruction time is great, and the coaches walk around while drilling to make sure we really understand. Extended live rounds at the end of each class mean not only a good workout but lots of time putting into practice your overall game plan, both from a self defense and a sport Jiu Jitsu perspective. Lastly, the higher belts are all super friendly. Granted, as a beginner, you'll still get smashed (there's no avoiding that really), but their goal is not to punish. They let you work in the various positions you find yourself in, and rolling with the black belts led to some bonus instruction and feedback directly relevant to my "style". Overall I would recommend this academy to anyone in the Austin area.
I travel a lot and am always looking for places to train while on the road. A friend-of-a-friend recommended Paragon during a recent trip to Austin, and I have been thanking him ever since. The owner and coach Robert was very helpful getting me set up, and took a moment before class to introduce me to the group (nice touch). The lunch time class had around 16 people in it, and there was a range from white to brown belts. The warm up was pretty standard (jogging, bear crawls, shrimping, squats, push ups, etc.), then we moved on to techniques. We worked on some half-guard, and I really liked Robert's approach. He started off with some very basic moves, and gradually progressed to much more advanced ones - and all in the space of 1/2 hour. While drilling, Robert gave a lot of individualized attention which was important as I got stuck a couple of times. Then, it was time to roll, and I had partners the full range of the room (white to brow
I traveled to Austin for work and wanted to drop in to Paragon for a class. I emailed them, and Laura was very pleasant and gave me all their class info. They have clean loaner gis too, which is a huge plus! The Monday evening class was pretty big with a good variety of both men and women of all belt colors. All the students were extremely nice and welcoming. All in all a very clean and safe training environment. Slight downside is that there was no AC (just a bunch of fans) in like 98 degree weather in the summer... I was not used to that Texas heat! I would love to drop by again if work takes me back to Austin again.
I was in town for work and was lucky enough to find Paragon to get some training in. The technique was on point, the people were welcoming and great training partners, and the facility was super clean. I appreciate the hospitality and would recommend this place to anyone looking to learn from some high-level Professors in a quality atmosphere. Thank you for welcoming me. I was in town again for work (Fall 2022) and dropped in at Paragon for some training. As before, it was a great experience and the people are top notch. Thanks for being such a welcoming place, I greatly appreciate it.
I love this Academy. I moved to Austin and was really nervous about finding a Jiu-Jitsu school, but knew immediately after my first class that this was the place. Everyone was so welcoming and there are tons of other women to train with. I recommend it to anyone interested in starting Jiu-Jitsu. Coach Corey is awesome and very detail oriented.
