Started dropping in to Gracie Barra Cedar Park two months ago to take some classes. My home gym is GB Round Rock and if you are a member of any GB in Williamson County you can attend GB Cedar Park and GB Georgetown. Training with different staff if always fun and meeting new students in a huge plus. As for the classes, the Tuesday and Thursday at 8am classes are always informative, fun, and challenging. There is a mix of students from White belts all the way up to brown. Always have more than enough professors and coaches to keep an eye out and help you out if you are having a tough time with anything reviewed in class. As with most GB's you can expect a structured curriculum, clean gym, and safe environment that will push you and take you out of your comfort zone to challenge. Be ready to work and sweat. Jiu Jitsu can seem intimidating, but when you communicate with your partner it is a fun and challenging experience. Go to learn and n
I just want to start by saying that this is my first time going to a jiu jitsu gym, my first day I went I was greeted with high energy and good attitude. It’s one of those places where you could tell the coaches are happy to be where they are. I had a class with David and Leo, both of them so far seem like really cool guys. They were really accommodating to my fitness level (I’m out of shape at time of first class) and they watch you closely to see if you’re doing the steps. I got a good workout and almost threw up because of how out of breath I was 😂. They’re also very good with safety, I wore a ring while sparring and they reminded me. I left it to the side and left the gym without grabbing it. I went back home and I was all stressed out because the ring had high sentimental and monetary value, (it was a Tiffany and Co. ring). I went back the next day and coach David handed it back to me no issues. These are people you can trust fs. T
After a few months of taking my 4 yr old to classes, they convinced me to start training at 40 years old. They are a great group of instructors. The classes for kids are especially impressive. Teaching children a sport that involves combat is inherently complicated, but they keep control of the class, the kids have fun, they learn, they work hard, and they handle issues immediately. There is also a heavy anti-bullying element to the kids classes which is great. I would highly recommend it.
we went in for a trial class and was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness of the trainers and coaches. They helped my three-year-old son who is shy at first start to become more receptive to the idea of jiu-jitsu. They even offered some gummy fruit snacks and some jiu-jitsu swag.
Professor Fabio is the most dedicated to his students and staff. He's always been committed to providing a top notch staff and coaches and also providing an amazing training environment. He really does epitomize jiu jitsu for everyone. Not only are the coaches and assistant professors absolutely amazing but the training partners are as well.
We absolutely love this place! Every time we come, everyone is so kind, sweet, and welcoming — always smiling, shaking our hands, and giving real individual attention to each child. Our 4-year-old sometimes wasn’t in the mood to go during the first month, but the trainers were so positive, patient, and encouraging that he always ended up excited to join in. You can truly feel that everyone here puts their heart and soul into what they do. It’s not just a business — it’s a place where they genuinely care about the kids and their growth. We’re so thankful to have found it!
