My daughter and I have been training at this school since December of 2019. We loved the time we had pre-pandemic shutdowns. Since the school reopened in May they have been very respectful of people's personal preferences and boundaries for this whole pandemic situation. I really enjoy the community of people that I train with. I primarily attend their noon classes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and it's a great time. I even moved to Leander back in June and I still choose to commute 35 minutes down to this school even though there is a closer one (7 minutes away) to me because I enjoy the community at this school. The people are great, they are helpful, they push you when you need it, and they encourage you to constantly strive to get better. The professor is very friendly and has a heart for his student's well being. The kids program has changed since coming back from the pandemic, but I actually prefer the new setup contrasted wi
My daughter has been training at Gracie Barra North Austin since she was 3 years old. She is now 9 years old - and a force to be reckoned with. The community, kindness, confidence building, BJJ skill, and team development that they teach the children is both incredible and steadfast consistent. I work in corporate America - and it feels like not only has my kid gotten BJJ training - she's gotten leadership training by being a part of this gym all of these years. Thank you to this gym for making us feel like family. We're excited to be here for many more years to come. Our youngest is 2.5 and we are looking forward to her getting started with BJJ training here as well. Our family loves you Professor Ricardo!!!
Having trained in boxing gyms for the majority of my life, I was excited to try out a jujutsu class. The instructors were patient and professional throughout the session, while also upholding the traditions of the sport. Their guidance created a welcoming and respectful environment for participants to learn. One aspect that stood out to me was the willingness of the advanced students to assist and guide those who were new to the practice. Their support and encouragement fostered a sense of camaraderie within the class, making it a collaborative learning experience for everyone involved. Overall, Gracie Barra not only provided valuable insight into the techniques and principles of the sport but also highlighted the importance of community and mutual respect in martial arts training. Friend of mine (who's a blue belt) recommended that I give BJJ a try, and stressed that it be with Gracie Barra. Attended the free intro class at the North Austin location, and enjoyed it so much I joined right after! Everyone has been friendly and welcoming... the instructors are great; they go over the techniques in a clear manner, and are very helpful during practice with comments and guidance. It's amazing... the other more advanced students often provide advice and constructive criticism, taking the time to help during training. Very supportive atmosphere! Highly recommend! Give the free intro class a try... and be ready for a workout!
Gracie Barra has been a lighthouse in a storm. My son was in a rough transitional phase having relocated several times in a short amount of time because of my working situations. Gracie Barra has helped him by being a stable foundation and community of mentors and friends that he has really flourished in. He enjoys the sibling like teasing of his class mates as well as helping the younger new students learn techniques as they all continue to learn together. Coaches there are great working with kids and are firm with the class when the time calls for it. Gracie Barra North Austin!
By far the best school I've ever trained at. I fell in love as soon as I walked through the doors. I would recommend this school for anybody who is looking into training Jiu Jitsu. GB North not only helped me get back into shape but helped me grasp a new out look on life. The instructors are very professional, and Very disciplined. Everyone is a family and are always opened armed to welcoming new people. Excellent facility, 5 stars!
