I have been training at Brazilian Fight Factory for 5-6 years now and have nothing but positive things to say about training there. Rodrigo Cabral is a great instructor who clearly loves Jiu Jitsu. He is constantly on the mat training with his students and researching new technique and strategy to bring to the lessons. He has a huge wealth of knowledge in the grappling arts, teaching classes with elements of wrestling/judo and jiu jitsu, gi and no gi. Both of my children (5/7) have attended the kids classes at the gym and I would definitely recommend the classes. The atmosphere is fun and engaging for them and the technique they are being taught is world class. The kids class is taught not only by Rodrigo (a 3 stripe black belt) but also by several purple and brown belt competitors who provide excellent instruction and are able to spend time one on one with the kids to correct any mistakes and make sure they are fully absorbing the tech
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A phenomenal BJJ school for kids! My 9 year old son absolutely loves training here. From day one, the coaches made him feel welcomed, confident, and excited to learn. The instruction is top notch clear, patient, and always focused on building strong fundamentals while keeping the kids engaged and having fun. What I appreciate most is how the coaches balance discipline with encouragement. They teach respect, focus, and hard work, but they also know how to make each class enjoyable. My son has grown so much not just in his jiu-jitsu skills, but in his confidence and ability to handle challenges. The environment is friendly, safe, and genuinely supportive. You can tell the coaches truly care about the kids’ development on and off the mats. If you’re looking for a BJJ school that teaches real technique while building character and confidence, this is the place. We couldn’t be happier!
This review is specific to the kids class and well overdue. Let me just say that this place is amazing! All of the kid’s Coaches are seriously some of the friendliest, most professional and most amazing kid instructors I have seen. Not only do they teach awesome technique, discipline, and work ethic but are also developing and encouraging these kid’s to become great human beings. They are ever evolving as well which is epic. We have been going there over a year and in the beginning there wasn’t really an emphasis on kids competitions. Once we started expressing as parents our interest to compete, not only did they show up, get organized and support and coach their events but also started a competition class for the kids who are really serious about competing. Professors Andrew and Davis even showed up to their outlier MMA tournament with about a week notice in San Antonio because they were genuinely curious about their MMA interest and
I got to drop in and train here about a month ago and learn from ADCC competitor Kody Steele and was pleasantly surprised to see the Tackett brothers also train here. This place really is a fight factory as you can see the competion skill from these young kids training hard in the adult classes. I know there are a lot of training teams in Austin but this room is probably the youngest room I have ever trained with. This room had to be 15-29 easily. My cardio is good but these guys were having a light day training and I was drenched after an hour of training. I had some great rolls and laughs with everyone here and there really is no ego tripping here. Drop-in fee includes their rash guard. Austin is a really tough training ground in general and this place represents that statement.
I have been training with Rodrigo for over 2 years. He is the best instructor around. Rodrigo takes complex techniques and is able to break them down to simple and easy to understand concepts. He is a world class athlete and an even better instructor. I love training at Brazilian Fight Factory, it is a fun family atmosphere. It is a great feeling and stress reliever to walk in the doors and be greeted by everyone just before class starts. As a gym we help each other out and reach our goals. Since starting jiu jitsu I have lost over 30 pounds. I am proud to say I train at Brazilian Fight Factory and I tell all my friends about our gym.
Huge respect to Rodrigo Cabral (instructor). Been training here close to a year now. Its a solid place for all levels even beginners and competitors. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly, there is no room for egos. You train and you learn. The instruction given from all instructors, is well articulated. Every body mechanics detail is clearly and concisely explained for each technique: weight shift, pressuring, positioning, etc. You will drill and you will roll with everyone. The training is tough and glorious. I've also lost 20lbs since I've been here with significant improvements to my body composition. Looking to shed some pounds? Do a class at least 3-5 times a week ( I guarantee you will see results in the first 3 months)
