My Wife, Son, and I have been coming here for about 6 weeks now. From our first class, the staff, and community have been nothing but welcoming! Our Professors, Miguel & Adam have been patient, helpful, and encouraging to our whole family. I had some experience a few years back training at another gym, but my wife and son are brand new....and honestly, whether you're brand new to Jiu Jitsu or just looking for your next home, Cornerstone is an amazing community to join! They have a great schedule offering morning, noon and night classes (so you can't make an excuse to not show up lol). They also offer Gi & No-Gi so you get a blend of both. I am super grateful we found Miguel and this community, and we look forward to growing here and continuing on our Journey! 5 Stars all around!
I am a beginner of jiu jitsu and have been attending Miguel’s classes for a little over two months now and I’m hooked. Originally, I had 3 or 4 jiu jitsu trial sessions set up at other gyms like John’s gym etc but after starting here for the first free week, I didn’t even bother to check out the other gyms. The people here truly want you to get better and make all the newcomers feel extremely welcome. It’s awesome seeing colored belts at my classes because when you roll with them they try to help you and instruct you on what you’re doing wrong instead of just submitting you for the hell of it. Miguel is very patient, keeps the classes fun and teaches in a way that beginners can grasp. The rolling is hard work, but it’s been so crucial in my “slight” growth the past couple months. There’s truly a great team here at this gym and I’m looking forward to many more years here. If you’re thinking about joining, come try it out!
Cornerstone has been my home academy for years now. The head instructor Miguel is very knowledgeable and professional. He has a passion to share Jiu Jitsu and he has created something special with Cornerstone that you will want you coming back to learn Jiu Jitsu, reach your fitness goals and have fun! He has a flexible class schedule as well as kids classes that are available.
I’ve been going to the boxing club of Cornerstone consistently for the last 3 months now. When I first got there I didn’t have a clue about boxing, how to throw a proper punch, and I was completely flat footed (couldn’t bounce on feet). Little did I know when I first joined that it was the start of an obsession and LOVE for boxing! 3 months later and 20 pounds lighter I can finally bounce on my feet and know how to throw punches and defend against them. But more importantly, the mental growth, the discipline and confidence gained from my time there have been life changing! Coaches Javier and Trevor are awesome and will work with you on any level of experience you might have (or zero experience in my case). It’s been a pleasure learning mindset, offensive and defensive boxing techniques from them. The community there is wonderful. Positive, high energy and friendly individuals that’ll welcome you with open arms and motivate/inspire you t
I 'started my Jiu Jitsu journey at Cornerstone a few months ago and I love it here! I came with zero prior knowledge or applicable skill sets but that didn't matter. As many other have correctly said, there are NO egos here and from day one I've been treated like I belong, like I've been coming my whole life. I can tell you from experience that Miguel and the other teachers are patient, persistent, and they will help you learn and grow... and smash of course. Highly recommended I will never train at another gym!
Very friendly and inclusive gym! I had the pleasure of visiting for open mat while in the state for a wedding and I would definitely train here if I lived in the area. The facility has AC, clean mats, changing rooms, and even extra gis if you need one. Miguel is a great instructor and a very nice person. I hope I get to visit again!
