I trained at BTT for 6 months as a blue belt. My bjj has gotten a lot better during that time. Prof Ruy explains techniques in detail. At every class he has come to me while i was drilling and given individual instruction. I've rolled with him countless times (that's a big deal. only go to a gym where profs roll with their students). He also gives me pointers while I'm rolling. My entire time there he has always treated me with nothing but respect. Prof Ruy is a decent man who genuinely cares about the sport and all his students. I was lucky to be here during the time Prof Ruy was training for the no-gi pan ams. Because I got to witness Prof Ruy crush everyone at 2018 Pan Ams and bring home gold. I also got to witness Prof Ruy's professor, Diego, win Worlds gold for the 3rd year in a row. Diego teaches at the Austin school a few times a month. I had the chance to roll with Diego which was awesome. The bjj is very good here. I've got to
My time at BTT has been nothing short of amazing. This is a place where more tenured, higher belt practitioners as well as beginners can really thrive due to the collaboration amongst the team. Everyone wants the other to succeed and the environment feels like a home away from home. Professor Rafa does a spectacular job of breaking instruction down into a digestible format which is very indicative of his HIGH skill level. His passion for teaching and shaping others - kids AND adults- both on and off the mat is apparent in all he does and has great energy no matter the time of day. I feel very lucky to have found such a great place to train here in Austin.

Whether you want to compete or just get in really good shape, BTT ATX will provide you tools so you can grow in the art. Coach Ruy has built a solid team and a top world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school.
When I moved to Austin, I went to many BJJ schools before choosing which one I wanted to train at, and though I don’t have anything negative to say about the other schools, what I will say is that Brazilian Top Team was by far the best one. Their classes are structured and fast paced. You’ll learn more in one week then you’ll learn in months in other schools. Ruy is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced coach and he’ll be able to break down all the techniques you’ll need to know to become a savage in BJJ!! If you have a chance definitely come train with us.
My boys have been coming to BTT for a few months now. Prof. Jojo is absolutely top notch! The membership is a great price for the training and discipline they teach you. My boys look forward to seeing him every class. They have a community and we all feel included. Everyone is very welcoming. Jojo is great with my boys. He says it himself all the time, the kids class is a favorite part of his day and it shows! Thank you Jojo for being a positive influence for my boys!
This place just recently opened but I have known the coach and management of this school for several years now. They are absolutely top notch. If you are in the Austin area, this is the school where you should train. The BJJ coach (Ruy) is an excellent black belt coach whom works well with all ages. The management treat people like family without the politics and egos. They are building a great team down in Austin.
