From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the professionalism and welcoming atmosphere. The instructors are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but they also take the time to ensure every student—whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned competitor—feels supported and challenged. The curriculum is incredibly well-rounded, blending solid fundamentals with advanced techniques, and the training partners are friendly, respectful, and always eager to help each other improve. Whether you're here to compete or just train as a hobbyist, this gym truly caters to all levels. The culture here is second to none. It’s rare to find a place that balances high-level instruction with such a positive and inclusive vibe. I’ve trained at several gyms over the years, and this one stands out by far. If you're looking for a place to grow, learn, and be part of a great community—this is it.
Fantastic gym. I was immediately welcomed to the family and encouraged to grow in both Jiu Jitsu and life. Everyone from the coaches, the owners, and the other students have been incredibly supportive. The training quality is as high as it gets while maintaining a family atmosphere. I have trained at multiple gyms throughout the States and none were as well run and inviting as TBJJA. The people that train at TBJJA genuinely care for others. I cannot say enough about the positive impact they have.
We’ve been part of this gym family for 3 years, and it’s been incredible for our 12-year-old. This is the perfect place for kids to build confidence, develop skills, and truly learn jiu-jitsu. Since joining the competition team, we’ve seen amazing growth in our child—both on and off the mats. The owners are hands-on, and every coach brings something special, but my son especially looks up to Coach Ray. He loves that Ray challenges him while showing genuine care. If you’re searching for a gym that feels like home and pushes your kids to be their best, this is it!
I've been training at Tennessee Brazil Jui jitsu academy for six years now, and have had two of my daughters train at various times. This is a phenomenal place to train and grow for both adults and children. Ray and Rachel's care about the kids was evident from the time they invested and how much that they cared about their development as humans. I could always tell, they put my children's best interest first. I feel lucky to have walked into the doors here. The culture and training are great. I could continue to heap praise but will stop for the sake of brevity. I highly recommend dropping in and/or making this your home gym.
Our experience at this academy has been nothing short of life-changing. My wife and I enrolled our three kids to explore how Jiu Jitsu could help them grow emotionally and what we found was so much more. We've become part of a diverse, supportive community where people from all walks of life come together to grow, challenge themselves, and lift each other up every single day. Rachel and Ray Casias are truly exceptional leaders; compassionate, dedicated, and deeply invested in every student’s journey. We couldn’t imagine a better place or better people to guide our family. Come join our family!!
