I visited Triangle Jiu Jitsu Academy in Franklin, TN while traveling, and it’s easily one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gyms in the Nashville/Franklin area. Coach Clay taught the class and did an incredible job breaking down technique with clear, detailed instruction. Instructor Owen ran warm-ups and was great to interact with — friendly, technical, and welcoming. What stood out right away was the atmosphere. The team here has amazing fundamentals, offers safe and high-level training, and shows the kind of Southern hospitality that makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in. The facility is clean, well-run, and perfect for anyone looking for BJJ classes in Franklin TN or jiu jitsu near Nashville. With so many people relocating to Williamson County, I’ll say this honestly: if I ever moved to the Franklin/Nashville area, this is the jiu-jitsu academy I would train at. My son and I started training at Triangle Academy of Jiu Jitsu in December of last year and we couldn’t be happier. Coach Clay and his team are amazing!! Not only are they great coaches/competitors but great people. The culture is very welcoming, positive and encouraging with no drama. The training is always competitive and challenging but the coaches are always looking out for students safety. I am always very impressed with the kids coaches ability to hold the kids to a very high standard both in their jiu jitsu and their behavior while still keeping classes fun and positive. I’m brand new to BJJ and have been training at Triangle Academy of Jiu-Jitsu for about a month — and I’ve absolutely loved it. Everyone here is super welcoming, and the coaches do an amazing job making beginners like me feel comfortable while still pushing us to learn and improve. The vibe is really positive, but you can tell everyone takes their training seriously. My 7-year-old son has been going for about four months now, and he absolutely loves it too. He’s gained so much confidence and focus since starting, and it’s awesome watching him get excited about learning new moves and rolling. The kids’ coaches are patient, encouraging, and do a great job instilling discipline in a fun way. If you’re thinking about trying jiu-jitsu, or want a great place for your kid to train, I can’t recommend Triangle Academy enough. It’s such a great community and a fun way to stay active together.

Triangle Academy of Jiu-Jitsu in Franklin, TN is hands down the best gym in the area! Head Coach Clay Mayfield is a WORLD-CLASS MARTIAL ARTIST with deep knowledge and experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His instruction is top-notch and easy to follow, making it a great environment for all skill levels. The team was extremely welcoming to visitors and made me feel right at home. Shout out to Coach Owen for being super helpful on the mats and taking the time to work with everyone. If you're looking to train in a high-level, positive, and supportive environment, this is the place to be. Can't recommend it enough!
If you’re looking for world class training and instruction triangle is the place to be. Clay mayfield is a top level athlete on top of being a fantastic coach and mentor. His training is very structured and the environment is intense. Perfect atmosphere for any athlete or hobbyist. One things for sure clays is very respectful and honorable. before I signed up and I was another academy’s student and i would cross train a lot with clays gym he would always welcome me along with his students at the door. He also would text me time to time, just to check up on me and my training. That said a lot about him as a coach to me. So I decided to switch academy’s and I’m so glad I made that decision. I’ve tried all the gyms in the Nashville area .. triangle is by far the best in town. Go check them out 👍🏽
