I’m writing this review as a parent whose child trains at Legion. If you’re thinking about starting your child in Jiu Jitsu, I would highly encourage it. If you’re trying to decide where to go, you’re in the right place - come join the Legion Family. The kids program at Legion is impressive. The kids learn how to respect their body, respect the bodies of their training partners, and treat each other with kindness and support. They build lasting friendships with their teammates, and they all work hard and have fun from start to finish. The professors and coaches are phenomenal, providing an accomplished training program for the kids. They expect a level of respect, which creates an environment for listening skills and following instructions. They are incredibly supportive of all the kids, encouraging their growth and skill development. Then it’s all wrapped up in a family-focused atmosphere. We have been beyond blessed to find the Legion
I can't recommend Legion BJJ enough. I currently drive 100 miles round trip in the morning to train at the Hendersonville location 2-3 times a week. The reason I do that is the access to high level of instructors and a really good group of training partners. Everyone there wants to see everyone else succeed and are invested in seeing you become better. The instructors have a high level of ability, but equally if not more important, the ability to teach. Training with instructors that have high ability, can teach and solid training partners are the trifecta of what you should look for. Legion has this. Also, I have had opportunities to see the instructors teach the kids and interact with them. My kids are grown, that said, I would not hesitate sending my kids here.
Legion BJJ is an incredible place to learn. I am still new to the sport, but Legion runs their gym in a way that always leaves me excited to come back. The instructors have created a welcoming, supportive culture that has extended to all the students as well. Everyone is invested in each other's development and success, and it shows on and off the mats. On top of having a solid team atmosphere, the quality of the training itself is awesome. The instructors are clear, patient, and always willing to help. I would absolutely recommend this gym to anybody even remotely interested in training!
If you're looking for the best place to train in town, look no further than Legion. The atmosphere is fantastic. It's incredibly welcoming, supportive, and feels like a community. The instructors are absolutely top-notch, offering high-quality, patient coaching that makes learning fun. They maintain a safe and fun environment for all ages, from kids to adults. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to continue your journey, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!
Legion has taught our kids not only great jiu jitsu skills - but also about listening, team work and respect. You definitely get a sense of community and family from all levels from the kids classes all the way up to the adult classes. We've made some great friends and love the gym's leaders and coaches!
Legion is such an amazing family facility! The coaches are so great with kids also. My husband, son, daughter, and myself have all done bjj there. My daughter started when she was 6 and Logan was so great with her and made her feel comfortable. We’re so glad our family has gotten the life skill that bjj can teach! I can’t wait for my one year old to be old enough to start! The facility is so clean as well which is a must for us!
