My family and I have been training with Good Tree (formerly Scranton MMA) since 2014. I travel the country for work and have cross-trained at many other gyms. Good Tree is best place to train! It's very welcoming, experienced, and is always striving for improvement--the complete opposite of a McDojo. If you train to tell people that you are a martial artist, you could go anywhere. If you train to improve yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually, this is the place! Aside from the knowledgeable staff; clean, well-equipped, and spacious location; you'll find some of the best training partners around. No matter your age, experience level, or physical prowess, training at Good Tree is guaranteed to improve the quality of your life.
My son takes the kids jiu jitsu class and the kids striking class and absolutely loves it. The instructors are so good with the kids and it's awesome to see the skills and confidence he's gained over time. The facility itself is well kept and clean and everyone works hard to maintain a welcoming environment for everyone. I can't say enough how much our family has loved our experience with Good Tree MMA.
The instructors here are not only incredibly knowledgeable but also create an environment that strikes the perfect balance between welcoming and challenging. As a complete novice when I started, I've been amazed at how much my knowledge and skills have grown in such a short time, with many thanks to the attentive coaches and wonderful community of training partners. One aspect that's especially important to highlight, especially for fellow female athletes, is the feeling of safety in this gym. It's a blessing to find a place where you can train with confidence, and Good Tree MMA definitely provides that. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a supportive and empowering martial arts community!
