Inner Circle is an amazing gym to train at. I first started training Muay Thai at another gym back in California around 2013. Eventually trained in SD at 10th planet as well and had a good time while receiving instruction from a female ufc fighter so I am familiar with a variety of teaching styles and skill level. After moving to Chicago, I started up training and unfortunately the gym I went to had people who simply weren't skilled to the point where even after a 5 year break no one had the appropriate skill level to teach competent fighters. However, after moving to syracuse, Walter at inner circle has to be one of the best instructors I've come across. He corrects your form and gives specific reasons to why certain things are done so that students are aware of them from an intellectual level. He also has coaches who work under him who embody the same talent for teach and training competent fighters. As an added bonus, his gym at this
Coach Walt has created a great environment at his gym based on respect and consistent improvement. You can tell he cares about each person as an individual. This is a gym you can go to to learn how to fight and fight well, that can certainly happen. But it's also a gym you can go to to make friendships and just improve yourself and move your body. It's the perfect size where there are constantly people in and out but never so many that you just feel like a number. It really is a tremendous place nestled away in an unassuming location. Many of the guys here have been training here for well over a decade, that says a lot. Consider training here and contributing to a great team. I've been going off and on since I was in my teens (30 now) - and outside of a football coach or two no coach or place has had more of a positive impact on me than coach walt and inner circle.
Inner circle bjj what a great training facility and next to none staff and instructors. With my extensive wrestling back ground and after talking with Coach Walt, gym owner and black belt, I knew this was the only place to be and train. Everyone I train with has been nothing but professional and inviting to me, making me feel right at home. Huge family atmosphere and everyone is willing to help no questions asked. So if your on the fence about joining do yourself a favor and stop in and ask for Walt you won't regret it......
Absolutely love Inner Circle Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. I've been training here for 8 months now and can not say enough great things about this school. Extremely friendly and personable, instructors and students alike. I'm so happy to have found a school I can call home here in Syracuse. The School's annual trip to Thailand is an amazing adventure.
This is a great place to train. Not only is Professor Walt a great teacher but he's also a nice guy and I think that makes a difference. Great mix of people train here and I dont know where I would be without my BJJ training. This may not be the biggest school in town but I've trained elsewhere ..this is the best. !
walt's awesome and shout out to all the other instructors too (kevin, chong, sam, brent, april, craig, david). inner circle has a great team vibe and training ethics, and they offer legit striking and grappling if you want to compete in any kind of combat sport or just get fit and try something challenging. classes run 7 days a week. love it.
