Spencer's brother has been in karate for several months, and we weren't sure about putting Spencer in yet because he is younger. Murray's Karate started to order a new class for 3- and 4-year olds, so we did a trial. Spencer is in class with Brayden, and he seems to love it. The direction and discipline provided by the Sensai's at Murray's are wonderful. They take into account each individual, and truly show that they care about the students. You can tell all the kids there are known and liked. It isn't just a business of how many kids (and adults) they can get in the door. Murray's offers Parents Night Outs and special events every month. Spencer seems to be enjoying the class (this is his second month), and it has created a stronger bond with his brother. They play together more closely now. I look forward to going to Karate every week, which is 2 times a week for his age group. I look forward to his continued growth at home and on/of
I posted the following comment 8 years ago and now my daughter has been a first degree black belt for almost a year…my original comment is still valid and now my daughter as a Sensei at Murray’s is helping to develop others while she continues her own training…. “I bought the intro package for my daughter's birthday because she has often said, "I want to be a ninja". We started in June and decided to stay with it because she liked it enough to be dedicated to the discipline and proper behavior required to advance through the various levels. The staff is excellent. I love that they are both firm and supportive with all the kids, celebrating progress. It sets a great example for both the kids and the parents.”
The instructors are incredibly encouraging and upbeat, and the entire team is always responsive and helpful. Signing our boys up for karate at Murray’s was one of the best decisions we’ve made. Over the past year—through classes, Parent’s Night Out, summer camp, and other events—our family has really gotten to know the staff, and they truly feel like part of our community. It means so much to us that our boys have such positive role models and mentors to look up to (and plenty of energy to burn while learning discipline!). We highly recommend Murray’s!
Murray's Martial Arts is the best karate studio in Rochester, hands down. My son began his journey there at the age of five. It's been a joy to see his self-confidence soar. He's gained knowledge in self-defense and stranger danger, improved his fitness, learned the value of friendships, commitment, work ethic, and the importance of striving towards goals. Now eight, he has enjoyed all the special events and the summer program, which are incredibly fun. Their structured programs have my full endorsement. Having coached soccer and managed my own small business, I seized the opportunity to join their team when a position opened up, eager to work alongside such exceptional instructors.
My son has been attending Murray's Martial Arts Center for the last year and I can honestly say we love it and feel like part of a family. There is always a warm welcome at the front check in, the teachers are amazingly talented, patient and motivating!! I appreciate seeing how interactive the owner is at this school, Sensei Sue Murray. She and all the teachers try to get to know the kids and the parents on a personal level. The new renovations are beautiful and the school is always clean. You can tell that each teacher is happy to be there and take pride in their lessons!
Great school and awesome teachers. I started kickboxing classes about 2 month ago with the goal of increasing my fitness level and learning some martial arts skills. The teachers are very knowledgeable and take the time to show you tue combo’s again if needed. If you would like to they also keep you accountable to reach your goals (you can opt out of this if you want as well) which has helped me to show up to class as often as possible. School is also very clean and team very nice. All over all I’m happy that I decided to join Murray’s Martial Arts!
