I came for a trail class because I wanted to check out gyms in the area. It happened to be that one of the instructors passed away the day before so I didn’t get to see what a regular class looks like. But what I did see is that this gym is a strong and supportive community that I think is a unique and hard thing to find environment. They set me up with private lesson on the side of the class to teach me the basics the level of friendliness that I received from the staff was amazing. They also invited me to come back and check out again for free to get a better feel for the gym. Also another thing I saw is the gym is chilled so no bow ins or making you leave the minute class ends. Also all the mats were brand new they have locker rooms and there is plenty of parking. Thank you guys for letting me come by for a free trial.
I live and train in ATX but when I visit my family in the area I've dropped into this gym and it's a fantastic spot to train. The instruction is top notch, the rolling partners are great, and it is a super welcoming environment. But probably the best part is even though I am visitor I am treated like every other member and the professors make it a point to coach me like any of their other full time students. As someone who travels frequently and trains around the country this has been one of the best experiences. Excited to return for a few classes over the holidays!
Best bjj school in NJ!! bill combines his background in wrestling with years of training in jiu-jitsu to make this a complete, well-rounded grappling school. Always higher level belts on the mats for top notch instruction with competitive, yet, safe training. The school is a great and friendly environment in which to learn bjj. I've been training here for almost 15 years - and there's no better place around!
I went down to the shore for my first anniversary with my wife and as always: GOTTA TRAIN. (thank you beautiful wife) I paid a visit to academy of JJ to get my fix in and let me just say: this is the spot if you’re training down by the Toms River/Jersey Shore. Friendly staff, very insightful coaching, and just an overall fantastic culture at this gym. Their facility is clean and they have a shower so you can wash after some great rolls. Shoutout to Professor Kory for teaching class when I dropped in. I learned a lot of really cool, subtle tricks to improve my game. He’s a great professor!
I’m from out of town and did a drop in class. The instructor Vinny was super welcoming and his instruction was first rate. I picked up some details that I will definitely use. The 6 am class had about 10 ppl which was more than I expected for an early class and all the guys were awesome and gave some good rolls. I will definitely come Back next time I’m in town and anyone local should definitely consider joining! It was also super clean. Great place to train!
Such an awesome place! Josh and all the other instructors are so knowledgeable and welcoming. The space is superclean. Both me and my children train here. Kids classes are fantastic and instill great work ethic and discipline into my kids. It's all classes are awesome. I've only been going to a few months and I'm in the best shape of my life! So happy that I found this place!
