I have been a student of Indianapolis Martial Arts Club for one year. And wow, I can't believe time has moved so quickly! When I reflect back on my original reasons for joining this club as a SAHM--to simply get out of the house a bit and feel more capable of protecting my young children-- I realize that my original goals have been surpassed. Not only am I more prepared for situations that may arise, the physical training involved has inspired me to pursue additional new physical challenges. One year ago, I laughed at the thought of running. "You'll see me run in an emergency," I'd say. I did not go for runs, do pushups every day, or even think about "core strength." Physical activity was not a priority for me so long as the scale reported an acceptable number when I stepped on it to weigh myself. Now, though, I see strength, cardio, and flexibility as incredibly important. I now notice these qualities and especially the challenge of mu
I recommend bringing your child or yourself to the Indianapolis Martial Arts Club, because it is a great and safe place for you and your child to learn and to become better at your fighting skills. I put my daughter in a class almost a year ago and she loves it. My daughter got better at her fighting and defense skills. The teachers are very professional, they take time to teach the kids the very best way they possibly can. Everybody is so nice, they make your child feel comfortable and tell them if they're doing something wrong so they can learn the right way and get better at what mistakes they did. - Dad My opinions about the Martial Arts Club classes are very good, there is nothing boring or bad about it. You make new friends and new classmates that you get to introduce yourself too, it's really fun to make new friends that you can work together with AND practice/learn with. When I went to my first class, I was very nervous but ever
I stumbled upon this place a little over three years ago. I was very out of shape and depressed, looking for a way out. I can honestly say that joining Indianapolis Martial Arts Club solved all my problems. Instructors Ray and James not only get students in the best shape of their life, but they also embed respect, discipline, and confidence in students. Students also meet so many different people with completely different backgrounds. I personally feel like Indianapolis Martial Arts Club has given me a family outside of my family, and for that, I am very thankful. What I was worried about most when I first started was that I would be thrown in with someone way more experienced than myself and I would end up hurt. This is not the case at all for any new student. Every new student starts in a beginner class. When Ray and James see that a student is ready to move on to the next class than they will make that arrangement. With Ray and Jame
Joining this club has honestly been one of the best decisions I’ve made. It not only teaches discipline and useful martial arts skills but also provides a supportive environment that makes learning enjoyable. The class has an amazing atmosphere—no matter how stressed or tired you feel when you arrive, you’ll always leave with a smile and a sense of accomplishment. Both coaches are incredible; they’re not only highly skilled and professional but also extremely friendly, approachable, and welcoming to everyone. This is a place where you’ll have fun while sweating it out, pushing your limits, and discovering what you’re truly capable of. You’ll get the chance to learn a variety of martial arts techniques that are practical, effective, and applicable in real-life situations. Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, build confidence, or simply try something new, this club offers the perfect mix of challenge and enjoyment. It’s more th
I recently began my training at Indianapolis Martial Arts club and can not be more happy that I made this choice. Ray and his instructors are very patient and knowledgeable and have made my introduction to Maui Thai challenging but very rewarding. From taking the time to personalize my initial training and preparing me for joining group instruction to introducing me and transitioning me into the beginners class, I feel they have taken their time and focused on personalizing instruction to the level of each student.. After turning 50 this year, I needed to make changes in my life for many reasons . The instruction I have received so far, has me excited for the next chapter and challenges in life. I would recommend this class for anyone looking to add focus and motivation in their lives.
After years of sitting at a computer every day, working in an environment that changes daily, and the stresses not only from work but everyday life something had to change. First my daughter and I purchased a gym membership along with paying for personal fitness sessions. We never found an instructor that had a genuine interest in helping us find our best. Instructors just provided a list of what exercises we’d do and watch with little to no input. After two years of private lessons and gym fees, we ended our gym membership. My daughter wanted to try Indianapolis Martial Arts Club. To say the least I was intrigued but at over 40 I was concerned about my abilities. Four months into it now and it has been a great experience. The instructors are great and take a personal interest in your development of the skill and you as an individual. Even with the hundreds of students the instructors see each day, they still know you by name. The worko
