Champlin Jiu-Jitsu Academy reviews

Rated 5.0/5 across 60 Google reviews.

Champlin Jiu-Jitsu Academy has been my son’s home for BJJ for the past 2+ years. The kid classes are incredible and provide excellent support for learning both the how and the why of BJJ techniques, as well as educating about the rules of competitions. Drew Champlin is a solid instructor and coach and has a team of amazing folks working alongside him. After watching my son learn so much in his first year, I started attending classes and have really enjoyed the journey. The gym is clean and welcoming to all skill levels. I’ve met so many great people on the mats. The class schedule at Champlin is also really plentiful. Additionally, Drew frequently hosts seminars from some of the best BJJ athletes in the world. This is a great gym to get started at, or to join to further your development. If you have child interested in learning jiu-jitsu, this is the best place in town to get them started.
While researching gyms in the area, I came across Champlin. The initial impression was that Drew was legit and all about the jiu jitsu. There are classes nearly everyday at convenient times especially for those who work the typical 9-5. The environment is very welcoming, friendly, encouraging—filled with people committed to getting better every day. Drew is a great teacher and explains things in an easy to understand manner. Unlike many gyms out there—there aren’t any strict or uptight formalities, no pressure into buying products/attire, and no (for lack of a better phrase) cult-like vibes whatsoever. Legitimately zero red flags. It’s all about the jiu jitsu with a great community of people. I’d encourage anyone looking for a great BJJ gym in the area to come check out Champlin.
If you're searching for a place to train, be sure to check out Champlin Jiu-Jitsu Academy. With ample parking, a clean facility, designated locker rooms, and plenty of mat space, it has everything you need for a great training experience. Drew, the owner, is an exceptional teacher who has fostered a unique and supportive culture within the academy. As someone who has been training here for the past 13 months, I can attest to the encouragement and camaraderie from everyone. Champlin offers a range of classes for both kids and adults, whether you're a beginner like me or looking to compete. I highly recommend it!
I’ve been training at Champlins for about a year now, and I can honestly say it’s been an incredible experience! The instructor is a top-notch—super knowledgeable, patient, and great at breaking down techniques for all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned grappler, they make you feel welcome and supported. The community here is amazing; everyone is friendly, encouraging, and pushes each other to improve. The facility is clean, well-equipped, and has a great vibe that makes every class something to look forward to. I’ve grown so much in my BJJ journey thanks to Drew, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to train in a positive, high-energy environment!
Champlin Jiu-Jitsu Academy is a great place to train. It’s a clean facility, the gym culture is healthy, and everyone works together to create a fun, supportive environment. Drew provides high-level technical instruction that holds up in real-world applications; he and many other members compete on a regular basis, and their success speaks to the high quality of the training room. Whether you’re new to jiu-jitsu, looking to change gyms, or searching for a place to train on the road, I recommend giving Champlin a shot. It’s an excellent option for casual hobbyists, serious competitors, and everyone in between.
I can't say enough good things about this gym. My friends and I needed a place to train, Drew welcomed us with open arms into the gym. He is an amazing coach with so much experience. He is patient, kind, and will help you level up your Jiu Jitsu to places you didn't think possible. The community and gym culture here is fantastic. It's a very relaxed place that is welcoming and full of people who support each other. I 10/10 recommend Champlin Jiu Jitsu. Thank you, Drew!
