This is truly a hidden gem where each student is given the utmost attention, no matter their skill level. Professor James Doner has made Brazilian Jiu Jitsu his lifelong passion and it shows. He is not just a talented practitioner but he is truly gifted as a coach (I went all the way to Regionals and Nationals with him as my professor). You can always find someone who is good at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but you can’t always find someone who is as dedicated a teacher as he is. Ragnar BJJ is a fantastic jiujitsu academy. It's mainly a nogi academy and the instructor James Doner has been training jiujitsu for close to 20 years. He's extremely knowledgeable in jiujitsu. He's also a really great guy and his classes are lots of fun! I highly recommend this school!

Professor “Ragnar” James is thorough with his teaching method. His instruction is top notch and he breaks down the little details of jiu jitsu. He has the patience to teach his students and recognizes the areas where they need focus. I’d recommend Ragnar Brazilian jiu jitsu to anyone who is interested in learning this martial art!

Ragnar bjj is the best no gi in the Tampa area. His detail with movement and how things flow together is second to none. Horde for life.
