I've been looking for a good local Jiu-Jitsu dojo for a long time! Today was my first time attending and it was a great experience! I tried Jiu-Jitsu at one other dojo in the past and had a poor experience which left a bad taste in my mouth. Here the instructors did an amazing job taking time to really go through all the details as they gave instructions on each of the moves we were learning. And I also really appreciated that they spent time to talk about safety and things not to do so that no one's getting hurt. It was a great time learning techniques and skills together with all the other students who were very friendly and welcoming. I signed up for a membership and I'll definitely be back in a long time. If you're looking for a good place to train in Jiu-Jitsu, I would give this one a try! Last time I tried a dojo it was dangerous. The guys didn't know what they were doing. Gracie Barra Lutz is a fantastic BJJ gym. Kids get to grow up with the very positive influence of the coaching staff, learning discipline and self confidence for the upcoming school years with a Martial Art that actually works in real life situations. Adults get to learn an intense self defense skill while burning a ton of calories and developing strength and cardio through daily workouts. Be it traditional Gi (a tougher version of the traditional Kimono) or No-gi (shorts and tshirt) classes, you learn the skills to defend yourself in real life situations. The gym has a great mix of newbies and experienced fighters and the coaches foster development at your own pace. The gym offers a free tryout class, so you can see if the workout fits your style. This is a great environment and my son and I enjoy it as not only a workout, but bonding time.

We have been going to Gracie Barra Lutz for about one month now, and I cannot sing their praises enough. We had gone to tests at two other jiu jitsu schools, but there was always something about the method of teaching and attention that felt off. At this school, from the very first visit, I could tell they were different. They are attentive to each child, and focus on developing skills both as a group and individually. There is an outstanding family environment. The professor is excellent, clear in his instructions, and highly-skilled. We are so happy to have found a local jiu jitsu school as great as this one.
