Bottomline: Authentic BJJ is by far the best Jiu Jitsu gym I have ever trained in. If you are looking for a place to get your children involved in jiu jitsu or if you want to personally 'up your game', look no further. The instructors are top notch professionals, that are knowledgeable, personable, and have unique teaching abilities that most public schools could utilize! More importantly, if you are a first-timer, this is the place to learn the basics. For those of you more seasoned, you will finally understand the "why?" to each move. What sets this gym apart is the amount of time and energy invested by the instructors outside of structured class times. They know each kid's interests, extended family, and work hand-in-hand with parents during those trying times either at home or at school. The gym is conveniently located in SE Denver and has plenty of parking. Once inside, the first thing you will notice is the cleanliness of the entr
Training with ABJJ for 10 months. As a father who works full time work, ABJJ has morning, afternoon evening classes to practice. The community here is awesome and the coaches and professor provide excellent dedication to the art of BJJ. Have trained in other martial arts, and have found BJJ provides a great work out to stay healthy: both mentally and physically. This is a great community, sign up and try a few classes(BJJ is a marathon not a sprint).. training can be hard and frustrating but stick with it and you will be smiling at the end with a great group of like minded individuals practicing BJJ.
We love it here. My 6 year old and myself have been at Zenith for almost a year and we recommend it to everyone. The kids classes are fun, energetic and exciting and coach Aaron is so good with the kids. Coach Aaron and Coach Anthony teach the kids respect and help instill confidence and mutual respect and it's so great to watch the young ones grow up strong. The adult classes are great too. Stick with it and it will become your second family. Everyone is eager to help and the ego is checked at the door. I love these guys and gals! Everyone is respectful and will help you achieve your goals whatever they may be. There's also a very competitive side to the family too. We've got something for everyone. Come roll with us!
I've been training here for 4+ years and cannot recommend this academy and its Professors highly enough. The environment they have created welcomes everyone from beginners with no grappling or martial arts experience, to those who have been training for years already. There are a lot of very experienced teachers here who help provide an extremely well-rounded training experience; there are multiple BJJ black-belts, former college wrestlers, current & former military & first responders, and others with deep martial arts & self-defense training backgrounds. Regardless of your age or level of experience, this is an amazing group of people to train with. No egos, no prima donnas, just great people who love to train BJJ.
I studied martial arts years ago and wanted to find a place in Colorado that fit my schedule and needs. I tried a few BJJ shops in the area and while most of them have good instructors, the vibe of ego and underhanded competitiveness bothered me. I didn't know much about what it meant to be a "Gracie certified" instruction facility, but after some research I found that it means that the Gracie traditions and meticulous instruction regimen will be followed. The instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible; willing to take the time whether you're a beginner or advanced student to make sure your technique is clean and useful. There are no egos the students are friendly, we all feel a sense of camaraderie help each other during every lesson and training session.
I was only a member for a short time, but this place (these coaches, the ownership, other members) was exactly what I needed at the time. I am so grateful for their acceptance and patience. In hindsight, I perhaps wasn't emotionally ready to tackle the idea of combat sports when I found Zenith, but they created a safe space where it was fun to explore my body's limits, not an intimidating atmosphere like I found at plenty of other gyms. Although I needed a mental break from jiu jitsu for personal reasons (and also moved across town) I left Zenith stronger than when I arrived - physically, emotionally, and mentally. They helped me build a foundation and appreciation for jiu jitsu that I carry with me now, as I finally built a consistent training routine and feel confident that this is "my sport." Now I do my best to return to their women's classes on Sunday once in a while, because Zenith will always have a special home in my heart.
