My child attends Rio Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense and I can confidently say that this place is phenomenal. The facilities are clean, modern and well-equipped, making for a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment. But what really sets Rio Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense apart is the quality of instruction. Professor Duda is an exceptional teacher who is knowledgeable, patient, and truly cares about his students. His passion for the art of Jiu Jitsu is contagious and his ability to connect with children is remarkable. Not only is my child learning valuable self-defense skills, but he is also building confidence, discipline, and self-esteem. The classes are well-structured and the curriculum is designed to help students of all levels progress at their own pace. Overall, I would highly recommend Rio Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense to anyone looking to learn Jiu Jitsu or self-defense skills. Professor Duda is an outstandin
Since day one of operations, Rio BJJ has been nothing but professional and fosters a family-type environment. Professor Duda, Coach Ryan, and Coach Fred all have the minds for Jiu Jitsu and have provenly tested their abilities in competition and on the mats daily. Everyone cares about your individual progression whatever your goals may be. The Academy is very clean and very safe. The instruction is World Class, and I feel myself progressing each time I attend class. Whether your goals are BJJ competition, Self-Defense, maintaining fitness levels, or just trying something new; Rio BJJ is the place to be. Even if you are not interested in competition, the level of instruction here will prepare you regardless!
I've had my son involved with this school for about 16 months. In the beginning, my 13 year old son and I went to 5 different schools in the area, including Rio, searching for the right one. We sat in on classes, met instructors and were introduced to students. After a week of searching, we ended up back at Rio. There is a strong sense of family, professionalism, kindness, but most importantly......respect for the Jui Jitsu way of life. Professor Duda, Professor Fernando and Professor Bret run a fun but respectful school. Their attention to detail and patience, whether your 6 or 16, is apparent and so appreciated. There are always at least 2 instructors present during class. Sometimes they pull in Coach Fred or Coach Ryan. They encourage higher belts to mentor lower belts when needed. There is always time to wrestle or "roll" , in every class. Plenty of stretching first, then carefully detailed instruction, class practice, then wrestle
My kids(10,10,7) and I have been learning BJJ from professor Duda for over 2 years now. We have loved every minute on the mat with him. During the same time, I've gotten to personally know the owners of Rio BJJ. All three individuals are some of the most approachable, friendly, and supportive people one could ask for in any situation. If you've ever thought about trying BJJ for competition, fitness, traveling drop in, or just a social activity in SE Aurora, Colorado... Rio BJJ is where you should be.
If Google offered a special designation for the top echelon of businesses beyond five stars Rio Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defense would deserve this status. There are so many positive aspects to Rio it is difficult to know where to begin. The instruction is outstanding, the owners are contagiously passionate about Jiu Jitsu, but most importantly, Rio exudes an air of positivity. The culture is welcoming, genuine and inclusionary. Whether you are brand new to Jiu-Jitsu or someone looking to sharpen your skills at the highest level, Rio fits the bill.
I highly recommend Rio Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense. The facility is clean, open, & organized. My child really enjoys going there & getting all the built up energy from the day out & learning new skills & making friends who share in the same interests. The staff & professors are welcoming, knowledgeable, patient, and really care about the safety of their students. They make sure their students do the moves safely & correctly while making it fun! The classes are engaging and well structured, and the curriculum is designed to help students of all levels progress at their own pace. What I love most is that the professors know each of their students by name, they really try to connect with them. All in all, if you’re looking for a place that teaches your child self-defense skills, while instilling into them important & valuable skills like discipline, consistency, & self confidence this is your place!
