I’ve been training at Ralph Gracie Richmond Jiu Jitsu Academy for a few months now, and it’s hands-down the best BJJ spot in the Bay Area. The facility is spotless, the community welcoming, and the instruction top-tier. My grandson has been at the academy since he was four years old, he is nine now. He has made a lot of personal growth through his experience here. Respect, discipline, consistency and being a part of a community are all things that he has learned and experienced here. My granddaughter has been at the academy since she was four years old, she is now six. She has taken to the structure and discipline at the academy. Her progress with confidence, strength and technique has been amazing! She will be participating in her first competition in the near future. The families who come here are kind and many are actively participating in Juijitsu as a family. There is a very supportive and inclusive atmosphere here. Martha S.
I started training Jiujitsu with Professor Igor and have learned so much! Igor is a caring and passionate teacher. He always makes you feel welcomed and is always excited to teach everyone from young kids to teens to adults with full time jobs and families of their own. The gym is always clean and very homey. Igor and his wife Elise do a great job running the place. If you are looking for a place to train and be treated like family this is the place to be!
I remember when I first started jiu jitsu a little over a year ago, I was the only girl at the 6am class. Professor Igor and the other guys in class were very welcoming and it wasn't intimidating at all! Since then, more women's classes have been added and it's always exciting to see more women on the mat! Everyone here has been super kind and helpful. Prof. Igor is a great teacher, always encouraging and very patient.
