Outstanding Jiu Jitsu Experience for All Ages! I can’t say enough good things about Big Break Jiu Jitsu in Oakley! Both my kids and I have been training here, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. The kids’ program is fantastic—my children have gained confidence, discipline, and self-defense skills while having a blast in a supportive environment. The instructors are patient and engaging, making each class fun and educational. As for the adults’ program, it’s equally impressive. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to help, whether you’re a beginner or have prior experience. The atmosphere is welcoming, and I've made great friends while improving my skills. If you’re looking for a place that offers top-notch training and a community feel, Big Break Jiu Jitsu is the spot! Highly recommend!
Big Break Jiu Jitsu is an incredible place to train—not just for the quality of instruction, but for the amazing community it fosters. Sam and David are truly exceptional teachers and even better people. They create an environment that’s both welcoming and challenging, where everyone—from beginners to advanced students—feels supported. What really sets this school apart is how well-structured the classes are. There’s a clear progression to each lesson, with thoughtful attention to both technique and the values that matter: being a good teammate, showing respect, and approaching training with kindness. You leave each session not only better at jiu jitsu, but better as a person. Whether you're looking to get fit, learn self-defense, or be part of a positive, tight-knit community, Big Break is the place to be. I can't recommend it highly enough! Sam and David cannot be praised enough for their patience, kindness, adaptive approach, and fir
Big Break Jiu Jitsu has been an outstanding experience for both my child and myself as an adult student. The gym offers a respectful, disciplined, and welcoming environment where individuals of all ages and skill levels can thrive. Instructors David and Sam consistently demonstrate professionalism, patience, and a genuine passion for teaching. David’s calm and insightful instruction, paired with Sam’s energy and encouragement, creates a learning atmosphere that is both motivating and supportive. My child has grown tremendously—physically, mentally, and emotionally. We've seen improvements in focus, confidence, and perseverance. As an adult, the training has been equally rewarding, offering both a physical challenge and practical self-defense skills in a safe, structured setting. Big Break Jiu Jitsu isn’t just a place to learn martial arts—it’s a community that fosters personal growth at every level. We highly recommend it to families se
Excellent Gym with high level coaching for the whole family. Coach David’s ability to teach high level Jiu Jitsu to every level student is very inspiring. I have enjoyed every class that I have attended through the years. Coach Samantha is always very professional very knowledgeable and teaches with patience and a great enthusiasm. I highly recommend Break Jiu Jitsu for the whole family no matter your experience level.
A place of growth and community. I have really enjoyed the 2+ years in this community. The ride has been absolutely beneficial for my quality of life. Losing around 65 lbs has obviously been great for me, but the community behind this has been great for my overall quality of life. My confidence and love for jiu jitsu started here. David and Samantha have the strongest passion for jiu jitsu with a resume to prove it. Considering I haven't felt this good I am going to use this as a way to say thank you. If you have an interest in jiu jitsu I wouldn't hesitate to contact them.
