If you’re starting jiu jitsu or looking to level up your game, Professor Spence and Waves Jiu Jitsu should be your home! After receiving my blue belt from Professor Spence I have never felt more capable. Whether on the mats or in my day to day life I can say with complete certainty that Bjj changed my life. The knowledge that professor Spence brings to his students is unmatched, even rivaling the greatest minds of Jiu Jitsu. Along with his extensive knowledge he also knows how to tailor and cater to each one of his students individually making their experience more special than any where else. Even with all of that, Daniel Spence is a grand ol’ Mate and someone who you can see lives, sleeps, eats and breathes Jiu Jitsu and is the person who you, your kids, your friends and anyone you know should be learning Jiu Jitsu from!
I had gave up doing BJJ. I kept going to classes and I wasn't getting any moves. I felt like I was wasting my training partners time. Once I met Proffesor Dan at Waves Jiu Jitsu, He made sure that I knew the drill, He Makes sure you get all the little steps. If it does not make sense to you or you have trouble with technique, He brakes down the techniques is little bit of pieces to make it easier to perform. I am also a fat guy and not flexible at all, so its hard to do certain moves, but not a Waves BJJ, he corrects your position, he makes sure that your angles are perfect so you can execute the move and me being a fat guy, I feel like I am 100 pounds and the more flexible person in the planet. Please If you can, come train with The Legendary Proffesor Dan. Once you trained with him, your BJJ will look phenomenal. Five Star!!!!!!! *****
If you've taken his class, you know Professor Dan creates an energy on the mat like no other! Intense, inspiring, passionate, motivational, all with a high degree of humility and honor for the art. You'll not find someone who loves Jiu Jitsu, and martial arts in general, more than Prof Dan. He is authentic, original and genuinely invested in every single student, no matter their experience or skill level. Most importantly, anyone who steps on his mat is made to feel welcome and at home, no matter where they're from. Go take a class and you'll see what I mean, guaranteed!
I’ll be honest—I'm not physically coordinated at all, and I sometimes feel like I’m allergic to physical activity. So, I was incredibly nervous to start my first class at Waves BJJ. But Professor Spence immediately reassured me that they specialize in working with beginners, and from the moment I walked in, he made me feel welcome and at ease. The atmosphere at Waves is one of acceptance and camaraderie. Every single person in the class was open, friendly, and eager to work with me. I truly felt like part of a team. Professor Spence is especially great at breaking down concepts and explaining the applications of each move. He’s incredibly patient and more than willing to help students—like me!—who don’t always get it on the first try. If you’re a newbie and scared to start, this is the place to do it. I can’t recommend Waves BJJ enough!
I've been training Jiu jitsu for 6 years now and Professor Dan has become of my favorite instructors. He has a passion for Jiu Jitsu and a deep love for teaching others. Not to mention he's also hilarious lol. ✔️ Top notch instruction ✔️ Clean environment ✔️ Friendly & patient ✔️ Absolute savage on the mats Look no further, this is where you want to train.
